I suspect one day we'll see a video where someone stops a cop like that. It will have to be a video on the net though. Because the media would never air it here.

Before the internets are under total control, that is the only weapon. People are so fearful of the people they employ, the consciousness of awareness needs to be online. I have seen too many videos of cop harrassment where people recite their rights and squelch the cops, only to have the online peanut galleries attack the victim of harrassment. That has to change too.

as it is everywhere......

I want to know what happened before this random guy started filming an incident he didn't see the beginning of.

Yeah, this "big evil cops, always looking for innocent people to beat up"-narrative is getting mighty old....

It is easy. Request - as your right - to have the footage of the dash camera released/subpoenaed. Most video categorically happens after an alleged infraction, so it would be very rare to find someone video taping cops from beginning to end. But, when it happens with other people it is more likely.

And, cops in the States are "big evil cops, always looking for people ignorant of the law, and their rights to beat up. This is well known, and part of the reason they dont care about video anyway is because they usually get paid leave - which is vacation. There are some good, mediocre and great cops, but the fraternity of law enforcement in the States is not about ginger and humble protection and service. Int'l and national television may herald them as heroes, but citizens who pay attention understand the abuse

No, it is a widespread belief among spoiled whiners and malcontents who feel it's their right to do whatever they want, and treat other people however they want.
They spend their time whining about how evil the police is when they uphold the law, and then proceed to whine about how they're not upholding the law. There's just no pleasing such people.

The woman wasn't presenting herself as a threat so this appears to be police brutality.

I'd look forward to that. Unfortunately, it is more likely we'll see bystanders filming an assault like this, rather than a video being posted that shows someone stopping a cop from trying to beat someone to death.

Don't be naive Forest, the woman was obviously the aggressor, and whoever recorded it was a whiner who thinks there is a conspiracy among law enforcement. Both the woman and recorder should be ashamed.... Obviously she was presenting herself in a threatening way, and the recorder didn't catch it. Cops dont terrorize citizens who are non-threatening.

He ran and tackled her to the pavement and began to throw haymakers, bashing her skull into the pavement.

Unless she had physically brutalized the cop within the same range of force, he committed the brutality.

Stop whining. The cop did exactly according to protocol. [/sarcasm]

Appears, schmappears. Facts, please, based on more than a few seconds of video-clips, are what's needed. Not guesswork.

I'd look forward to that.

I'd look forward to someone thinking he could attack a police officer, getting the bullet between the eyes that he deserves.

Well, I guess you are right and I am wrong.

Yes

I notice, that you did not answer the question, because you cannot.

Hey, you gotta point there.
All this CHP officer was trying to do, and this is actually his excuse, is to stop her from walking near the roadway.

Welllllll, he certainly did accomplish that mission didn't he? Nothing says, DON'T WALK THERE, like closed handed fists to the face after a pedestrian is thrown to her back and straddled.

Phew, we should be grateful she's safe from cars now. :)

CHP said they are empowered to utilize any method in order to bring someone into compliance.

And now they're going to be investigating this themselves. I'm confident this cop will be prosecuted to the fullest for his assault on this woman. Because CHP is all about compliance.

Even when they have to beat it into a woman by goodness, they will instill respect for compliance! You betcha.

I agree, as it is important to know what the women was doing before this video was shot, to know the full story and possible motivation for what the cop did.

With that said, if it can not be shown she posed a threat to the cop and he needed to do what he did, this dude is likely in some serious trouble.
