I am very disappointed with the UK part of the forum that it has taken a Villa fan to start a thread to do with the World Cup ;) :)

All of you must sit on the naughty step for 3 mins. :)

Now that aside, have been enjoying the heats so far but cannot unfortunately stay up to watch the matches which start after 11pm.

Loved the Netherlands vs Spain match but I got annoyed with the BBC how they were trying to make excuses about the pitch prior to England's defeat a couple of days ago.

When you eventually come off the naughty step, please feel free to comment on the World Cup here.

It has been an enjoyable Tournament so far. The Matches yesterday were a bit boring though.
I'm liking it too though I must confess that I'm finding I tend to skip to the highlights with some of the matches rather than watching a full game.

I unfortunately have no interest in football; as much as all the bloody adverts assume otherwise.:p
^_^ The adverts are subliminal covert messages to convert you into wearing an England shirt and whistling the theme tune to the "Great Escape". :)

I KNEW IT!

I'm still watching the fallout of the EP Elections.
Politics is much more my cup of tea.

Bah, I'm so boring.:p

Noooooooo we can't go out this early :( that was painful too watch
Yep it sure was. Sad thing was when the World Cup started I felt that England would not make it out of the heats.

I hope Italy proves me wrong in their next match.

There were times where we seemed to play alright, but there just needs to be a lot more done.

Other players are a lot more fluid and pass and set up other players a lot more. England seem to rely on sole attackers and the occasional cross in. It's really not surprising they are left scratching their heads when the other team has passed several times, got a shot off and they were only just catching up on what has happened.
If they don't play that way themselves and have experience with it, it's harder to understand the mentality of players and teams that do.
It's especially typical of the Spanish and South American teams.

I just hope that Rooney gets some slack now. He did his part last night. Shame about the header that didn't go in, but not much he could have done about that.

it is still technically possible...but even if they do...and then we beat costa rica
.we've still got to do it with enough goal difference.

its statistically pretty dire.
but i agree we didn't look good going into the world cup so its nor suprising

"Well Bill, do they have football in heaven?"

"Good news and bad news"

"What,s the good news first."

"Yes, there is football in heaven."

"What,s the bad news?"

"Tomorrow you are goalkeeper."

That's right. There is something about the way we play which is too different on the international pitch.
