i tend to get offended with politicians lying with election promises and corporate greed . society has been warped to the point that alternate lifestyles need to be given protection under the law . if christians did not react with violence towards homosexuals in the first place, we wouldn't need extra laws to protect their rights . it would be nice if things went back to the beginning where there was one man and one woman with God . it's a beautiful picture . but to get there, begin by destroying the foundation of the colonialist oppressors . founding not a nation under the law, but on the principle that one should respect their neighbour as themselves as God has so exemplified himself .

Don't you think that society learns from it's mistakes?

How long did Rome last? Nothing last forever ...

X amount of the world is Christian
X amount of the world is Catholic
X amount of the world is Muslim
X amount of the world are other religions

Leaving X amount of the world that doesn't believe or care that there are punishments for their sins ... it's this part of the world we have to watch out for.

I think each generation has to learn its own lessons, and usually by the time they learn them it is too late. I was a baby boomer. I do not think my generation learned anything...^_^

We are less than 100 years from the NAZI holocaust, and people have learned nothing. We are now heading for another, and people are charging pell-mell into it with eyes wide open. Already Christians are being marginalized and demonized. All the laws, codes, statutes, and ordinances are in place. The judges are ready to hand out the sentences, the police are ready to round us up. The prison guards are ready to beat us and throw us into solitary... There is really nothing left to do. People are ready to stand by in silence, turning the head and whispering "they are getting what they deserve..." The advocates of human rights and tolerance will lead the charge.
Everything is in place to commit another holocaust. We are just waiting for the switch to be thrown. Persecution is coming. Get ready to run.

The scripture reference Renee posted is very good.

In society consideration for others seems to be dying and being replaced with selfishness. It's the way the world is going. IMO we need to be aware of this in the church and look out for the needy and the helpless, perhaps moving away from the pigeon hole style that seems to be gaining ground. Looking on the heart not the outward appearance alone.

God Bless:)

No doubt what I will say won't be popular.

But, your assessment is accurate. So, where does this change in societal attitude come from?

It is my position that it comes from being told over and over again that the collective is responsible to supply the needs and wants of the individual. This destroys personal responsibility and encourages an attitude of not only dependence, but a dependence which is deemed deserved.

It's a very subtle message that says, "we are not responsible to provide for our own needs and desires". And that sense of entitlement grows and begins to destroy that which is a necessary requirement in the approach of God, humility.

We rarely truly recognize the wiles of the enemy. In truth, he isn't much concerned with our day to day lives and desirous of inflicting harm on us. His real intent is to shape how we think and thereby create hindrances to our access to God. This is why Scripture teaches, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Rom 12:2

We are in a spiritual battle. The battleground is the mind. The one who determines how our mind operates is victor.

The Lord did NOT remove Noah from the flood. He protected Noah by preparing him for it and then guiding him through...

Let's say it another way.

The Lord lifted Noah above the flood by the ark.

The Lord lifts Christians (born again people, rom 10:9) above the time of His wrath by the "catching away/Rapture".

That is true.

The reason is the very seat and source of sin that has been in every person since Adam.

Hence the reason we must be born again/saved (rom 10:9).

. Already Christians are being marginalized and demonized.

I remember an older lady I knew for years, she's gone to be with the Lord now, but she was forced out of her church because she would not accept that all religions lead to God. She came to the AG church I was in and found there, to a lesser extent, the same teaching. In the AG church our house group leaders taught that muslims were saved. When the pastor would not address this issue for fear of upsetting the house group leaders, the majority of the house group quit the AG.

These are the days that when we stand for the faith we will experience opposition, as you say. Even the most foundational doctrines are under withering attack from people both inside and outside the church.

But if we do not stand firm for the faith we will not stand at all.

Sometimes change can be gradual, sometimes very fast.

In this country the declaration of war in 1914 and 1939 brought huge changes to an individual's rights and freedoms overnight.

We have seen the gradual erosion of Christianity over many years, now we can expect to see the storm that will change the lie of the land completely. The storm clouds have been gathering for a while, soon we will see the eye of the storm.

You know those school girls abducted in Nigeria a couple of months ago, in fact two months ago yesterday?

That was bad and my heart goes out to them and their parents, but I wonder why no one cries for the thousands aborted in the last two months, because they are not real and the school girls are I guess.

The world has turned a blind eye to what is right and what is wrong, even worse we may have to guard what we think someday due to the masses are starting to be like zombies and coming down on anyone that does not see things their way.

Cheer up Jesus will come back like a thief in the middle of the night all we have to do is be ready. :amen:

all one has to do is to look at what has happened to facebook, and especially at the lawsuits in the U.S. that have been filed by religious owned or affiliated public companies against the Obambacare mandates, to realize that the zombies are in fact taking over the social and legal media already.

The following statement quoted and cited below was released today.

"Statement of Michael P. Warsaw, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of EWTN Global Catholic Network, in response to today's decision by Judge Callie V.S. Granade of Mobile, Ala. denying EWTN protection from the government mandate that it must provide coverage of contraception, abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization as part of its employee health care coverage.

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – "We are extremely disappointed with the decision reached by the court in this case. The opinion issued is clearly inconsistent with the decisions reached in nearly all of the cases decided to date. The fact that the court has dismissed the serious issues of conscience and religious freedom that EWTN has raised is very troubling.

As an organization that was founded by Mother Angelica to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church, we do not believe that contraception, abortion-inducing drugs and voluntary sterilization should be defined as health care. We simply cannot facilitate these immoral practices. We have no other option but to continue our legal challenge of the mandate. We are making an immediate appeal to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta."
