The aod is an idol ....placed in the future temple.... The image of the man of sin...that comes to life .. A golem....that speaks ...and will be worship and people will obey it... And do what it says... They will receive instructions from it and condemn those that bow not to it

It is future ...it has not happened yet

Yeah, I can see that. I mean, hey, a talking image, whose first impulse is not to fall down and worship it? You know that talking Abe Lincoln at Disneyland? It's all I can do to stop myself from worshipping it, and I don't even think the Old Abe himself was all that. And that giant talking mouse at Chuckie Cheese? I have to just focus on the Ski Ball game to keep from kowtowing to a mechanical rat.

So yeah, a jen-yoo-wine, golem, that'd be too much for anybody to resist.

It is future ...it has not happened yet
Any day now.

Jipsah why do you like to pik on me? :)

So your point being humanity is too educated to worship some dumb idol in the future

Well they worship idols in the past.. Why ?...ignorance maybe?

Can our society fall back?... Can we go back to days with no electricity no internet war torn world?....will world war 3 bring us to a unknown place never before seen in our lifetime?

Ignorance can rise again... And minds will be lead to stupidity again as it is reshape to believe anything ...

We won't be alive to see the aod ... So no... Not any day now

Random,
The problem is the phrase. It is a cause and effect passage. It began in Dan 8:13 as the rebellion that desolated. The rebellion was the cause and the effect (which God brought) was desolation. We later see abomination used. Israel does something that is an abomination and the resutl of that (which God brings) is desolation.

So you haven't made any progress. The Roman armies were actually the tool of desolation God used, but they did not commit the abomination that God was upset about (Mt 23).

Agreed!!

For further support, reaearch what the mount of olives signified to the jewish mind with respect to solomons idolotry in 1 & 2 kings. It's called the mount of destructiin in 2 kings 23:13 I think it is. This is where the roman armies encamped when they came into jerusalem.

You did not quote the verse regarding the Abomination of Desolation.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand )

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

The AOD will be a statue image of the Antichrist standing.

Would you like to explain Matt 24:21, because with your "AoD" that's almost 2k years of tribulation. Which leads to v22, which days have been shortened? Last I checked "flesh" has been multiplying not shortening.

An the fact interplanner doesn't agree is also breathtaking.
Well, the math is 1335 days that the great tribulation lasts. 1335 days is 75 days more than 1260 days. Thus, the great tribulation and the AOD being setup begins before the exact midpoint of the 7 years by 75 days.

Which works out when one considers the 1260 days of the two witnesses is the first 1260 days of the 7 years, and near the end of that 1260 days, they have to confront the Antichrist after he has become the beast, 75 days plus before the exact midpoint.

So the two witnesses will battle him, the 75 days, plus a little bit because it is going to take some time for the world, as directed by the false prophet, the end times high priest, to physically make the statue image...in similitude like Aaron (a priest) made the children of Israel make the golden calf.

The word shortened in Matthew 24 actually means limited. That is, the great tribulation will be limited that, otherwise, no flesh will survive. If shortened actually meant made shorter from the 1335 days to a lesser number, then we couldn't put trust in the passages in Daniel.

I think you missed my point of not agreeing with his idea of the AoD was the armies surrounding Jerusalem in 70ad with the aspects of we are currently still here.

While my verses aren't ideal for a solid refute, I just wanted to hear his reason for those verses being met/coinciding with his original idea.

Also I don't disagree with your math/belief/understanding of those prophecies. As long as it's not past.

In the holy place is what is stated in matt. Where it should not be is in mark. It's an assumption to say that irs eeferring to the temple, though a logical one. All of Jerusalem was holy to the people. The roman empire was pagan and worshiped multideiries. Their presence was an abomination.

However, I believe the roman armies were also the tool of God/Christs endind the mosaic covt and givibg favir for the new covt of life. It was tge judgement against both the soth kingdom (of judaism) and tge north kiingdom (Israel) for solomons paganism and their idolotry after the everlasting covt is established on earth. They continued sacrificing animals after God fulfilled the foretype. That was also an "overspreading" of abomination from Dan 9.

See Ez 11:7 & 1 kings 13:11 as well as 2 kings 23:13.

It's also possible that some sort of statue had been placed in the temple. I had read that a few times and will post it if I find it.

All these things were abiminatiins where they should not be.

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

.........The eagle, whose ruling instinct is rapine and murder, as fitly represented the fierce and sanguinary temper of the Romans, and, perhaps, might be intended to refer also to the principal figure on their ensigns, which, however obnoxious to the Jews, were at length planted in the midst of the holy city, and finally on the temple itself.

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover.............................................

Which leads me to ask:

Where is Abomination of Desolation showing in Revelaton?

The Abomination of Desolation is spoken about through out the gospels.

Here is a list I would like everyone to pull out their bibles and read:

Matthew 11:38-41 (sign of Jonah, Jon. 3:4. Nineveh was given 40 days & repented, Israel is given roughly 40 years & does not repent)

Matthew 16:4 (once again the sign of Jonah!)

Matthew 21:40-44 & 22:1-10 (the kingdom taken away from Israel culminating in the AD 70 judgment & siege of Jerusalem and the kingdom given to the church)

Matthew 23:34-36 (the blood of ALL the prophets slain with Christ as the final prophet required of that generation during Jesus' first advent)

Matthew 24:15 (siege of Jerusalem AD 70 & abomination of desolation see Luke 21:20,24)

Mark 13:14 (siege of Jerusalem AD 70 & abomination of desolation see Luke 21:20,24)

Luke 4:25-27 (Jesus stirring words against the apostacy of Israel during His first advent)

Luke 11:29-30, 32 (once again the sign of Jonah!)

Luke 11:50-51 (once again the blood of ALL the prophets slain with Christ as the final prophet required of that generation during Jesus' first advent)

Luke 19:41-44 (Jesus mourns the siege of Jerusalem AD 70 and the abomination of desolation)

Luke 21:20,24 (siege of Jerusalem & abomination of desolation, see Matt. 24:15 & Mark 13:14)

Rev. 11:2 (siege of Jerusalem & abomination of desolation see Luke 21:24)

Rev. 17:5-6 (once again the blood of ALL the prophets slain with Christ as the final prophet required of that generation during Jesus' first advent)

Rev. 18:20,24 (once again the blood of ALL the prophets slain with Christ as the final prophet required of that generation during Jesus' first advent)
