Nope...I hear "money, money, money, gimme money" I watch it for the same reason I listen to Joel Olsteen preach...to find holes in their logic and reasoning and then communicate it to others :)

:thumbsup: you should read my thread the worst people in the world, watch that video some one put up, that is some kind of evil right there.

So Im flipping through the channels and I stop on some preaching. Looks like an infomerical but it's a running program. Bottom scroller shows all the verses that justify tithing and to send them money. Many numbers display at the top of the screen, one for each continent, so a pledge can be made. Then I hear that for only $35 I can get Psalm 45 perfume, and I am troubled. A preacher passionately gives his sermon, some gospel solos are played, and I feel nothing but disgust. Is this what Christianity has come to for the mainstream? A way to suck dollars, yen, and euros from the dumb masses so that the execs can make $300k a year? Then I check wikipedia and see all the "preachers" and "Godly men" who have preached under the TBN banner

Trinity Broadcasting Network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Am I being too judgmental or does this sicken other real Christians out there?

I think a lot of the people on/around there are a bunch of charlatans.

Some of the preachers on TBN seem to be decent, but others not. It seems like TBN would be more responsible with who they let preach on their programs.

Also, when they need money they let some preachers get on there and preach some odd things.

Such as saying that people will get a special blessing if they give X amount of dollars.

If they need money they should ask for it, but they shouldn't start making things up.

I haven't watched TBN in almost a decade. Most of the junk on there made me sick back then, and it sounds like it hasn't changed a bit. Sometimes I wish God would do some Ananias and Sophira type judgments on the church today... I wonder how many Word of Faith preachers would be left alive afterward. But I wonder how many of us would be left, also.

I'm Pentecostal and let me just say I am also disgusted with TBN and it's money-hungry agenda. I don't trust them for nothing.

I just wanted to say that because a lot of people associate TBN with pentecostal/charismatic churches and let me just set the record straight that the majority of their teachings and "prosperity gospel" (ugh) beliefs are in no way close to classical Pentecostal doctrine!!

God bless!

John: 8. 7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Luke: 23. 21. But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. 22. And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. 23. And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.

Romans: 2. 1. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4. Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5. But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6. Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7. To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9. Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10. But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11. For there is no respect of persons with God. 12. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

Colossians: 3. 12. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Mark: 7. 15. There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
