Meet The Liberal Network That Orchestrated The Hit On The Benham Brothers | The Daily Caller

Right Wing Watch is a project of the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way, which started with an assist from the left-wing Tides Foundation.

People for the American Way was founded with help from former television Norman Lear, a Hollywood executive producer credited with starting the anti-Christian-right movement in the 1980s.

The president of People for the American Way is Michael Keegan, a founding member of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). GLAAD was involved in last year’s unsuccessful effort to permanently remove Phil Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” after his well-publicized comments about gays.

People for the American Way, perhaps ironically, is also a member of the National Coalition Against Censorship — a group that has protested the silencing of people based on their views on homosexuality.

Faith Driven Consumer battled GLAAD during its anti-Duck Dynasty effort last year. It has now launched an effort in support of the Benham brothers called FlipThisDecision.com.

More than 15,000 people have signed their petition demanding HGTV reverse its decision, he said. Stone acknowledged that the Benham brothers might end up on another channel.

“There seems to be a number of people, a number of networks, that are expressing interest in picking up the show,” he said.

So it looks like Right Wing Watch will fail again in its effort to stifle free speech and freedom of religion.

With a name like Right Wing Watch, were you expecting a website about conservative time pieces or something?
th

It's just a liberal version of The Blaze, et al. BTW, did RWW post any facts (as opposed to opinions) that were not true?

About Right Wing Watch

People For the American Way's Right Wing Watch is dedicated to monitoring and reporting on the activities of right-wing political organizations, in order to expose the agenda of the extreme Right. Our researchers monitor dozens of broadcasts, emails and websites, and use their expertise on right-wing movements to analyze and distill that information for the general public.
We hope that by shedding light on the activities of right-wing organizations, we can expose the risks that their extreme and intolerant agendas present to our country. We do not endorse the views of groups that we report on.

Right Wing Watch: look at the Right as they embrace the intolerant

"While an intolerant sect does not itself have title to complain of intolerance, its freedom should be restricted only when the tolerant sincerely and with reason believe that their own security and that of the institutions of liberty are in danger."

- John Rawls, A Theory of Justice
Designing laws to deprive the LGBT community of their right to freedom should not be tolerated.

But blacklisting people with whom one disagrees SHOULD be tolerated apparently

Those Benham brother dudes weeping about their "free speech"? Yeah, back in 2004 they went out of their way to lobby and pressure a city council to deny a permit to a gay pride parade.

That's not quite the same thing as the blacklisting against the Benhams

I have 157 cable channels. Surely they can sell their show somewhere besides HGTV (Homosexual and Gay TV). "Blacklisting, thanks to technology, doesn't really exist because every social, religious and political ideology has media outlets now.

I find it odd that a supposed Libertarian would find it disappointing that ultra-leftists would fail in pushing censorship against American Christians.

Very rarely do those who demand freedom and tolerance for their community extend that respect to those who are not part of that community.
That charge is brought against Christians with regularity by those who are ultra-leftists. GLAAD being one of the most vocal hate groups in America today.
And yet, GLAAD demonstrates with regularity that very same attribute.

As do the ultra-leftists. Perhaps there is an left-wing watch group out there. I have yet to check. But if not it would be an ideal defense if a Christian based organization created one. Then they could help watch for and defend against anti-theists, gay hate groups, and others who want to turn America into a nation that embraces all manner of immorality as a politically correct platform. While prosecuting those opposed.
