Hi everyone

I've been lurking in this forum for a while yet. For the last 15 years I've been a mostly solitary pagan and witch devoted to the service of the Divine Mother in Her many forms. I actually went through training within my coven and became ordained legal clergy within my faith tradition. The last few years I found my spiritual focus shifting, rituals that used to give me comfort and solace no longer gave me either. What used to be a joy no longer fed my soul.

For a while I had been having a gut feeling every time I drove by the Episcopal church in the small town where I run errands. Something was telling me "go in!" After talking to my best friend about it, I resolved to go to Sunday services to see what this feeling was about.

On the first Sunday of Lent, for the first time in over ten years I stepped into a Christian church to attend worship services. After a long spiritual drought I felt overwhelming joy participating in prayer and worship to God and Jesus. The ritual and the singing felt so natural to me and I was hooked. Furthermore, everyone there was so welcoming and genuinely nice to me (pagan jewelery and all, I wanted them to see me as I am).

Since that experience I resigned from my coven and surrendered my priestess credentials. After much meditation, prayer, and conversation with the Reverend, I have asked for baptism. It will be happening in a couple of weeks!! I feel very at home spiritually at this Episcopal church, and I love that critical thinking is encouraged when discussing the meaning of scripture which is opposite of my first experiences with Christianity long ago.

I'm so glad to be here, and will probably continue mostly lurking for a while. :D

Thanks everyone! :D

Have you read any C.S. Lewis? I think his stories and writings might appeal to you.

I read the first four books of the Chronicles of Narnia series when I was a kid. Actually I had no idea he had major published works other than his fiction until I Googled just now. :) Mere Christianity sounds interesting to me based on the description. Are there any in particular that you would suggest a total C.S. Lewis newbie to start out with?
