The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Mike, my only plans are to try to get to Church again. I want so badly to go and cried when I could not get in tonight. I haven't been in so long and so need and want to go. Please pray I can get in tomorrow

Thankyou Debby. I have been trying since Easter and every time, we get to outside the Church but can't go in because of people's selfish parking And you know what we have said about me being in church at Easter? Well it didn't come to pass. I am confused.

Praying that you can get to church tomorrow. Can you let them know you are coming so they can sort out parking for you? Most churches will try to save a space if they know that someone with mobility problems is coming.

Thanks Criada. The priest already does know of the problems and we only spoke to him about it the other day when he came to our house, but he says there is nothing he can do. He can, I believe, but he won't. There is a history of this problem but we can't do anything about it. We have been fighting this one for a long time.

I did the stupidest thing today. I put on my Spring/Fall jacket and I went out with Suzy and locked my keys in the apt. Luckily I had my purse with my cell phone and a key to my car. But I didn't have the key to the garage or building. So I had to stand in the hall. So I thought I was going to be in the hall all weekend and was anxious. A nice neighbor of mine appeared and gave me the key to the building and garage to borrow for the day. I told her I was going to go and get another key made to the building and I only had one that was locked in the apt. along with my door key. Meanwhile she called the manager and thank God the manager was in town. She often goes out of town for the weekend. I went to the store and made 2 more keys of the building/garage and one was for the lady whose key I borrowed and one was for me. When I got back the manager was back home and let me into my apartment. This is amazing to me. I never usually do that. I can't remember any other time I've locked myself out. I'm so grateful to Nan and Lisa!

Oh Ruth, How funny but it would not seem funny to you at the time !!! Glad you got back in OK in the end.
One time, when we had a motor bike and that was our only transport, Bob had his crash helmet on his head and could not find his motor bike keys. He was looking ALL OVER for them. In the end he gave up and took his helmet off - and there they were - on his head LOL.
