Zachariah 11:8 "Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me ".

This confuses me a bit, the rest of the Chapter I only clearly see Two shepherds in mind, the Good Shepherd, Yeshua, and the Idol Shepherd, who's identity is controversial.

Taken at it's most literal, this would mean the same month of the same year. I can't see the men on the other 2 Crosses being defined as shepherds. So Biblically that only leaves 1 other person known to have died the same Month, Judas Iscariot. And his actions are definitely in mind in this chapter elsewhere, it's quoted in reference to him.

Yeshua is the only good person who could be described in such a way as being loathed by God. Because he was Made Sin for us.

Those who view Judas a the Antichrist use this passage. I view Judas as the False Prophet, arguments of that overlap. I want to understand this chapter better as I'm still open to being proven wrong, and if right I want to perfect my argument.

Maybe the Month in question though shuld be used as same month but different years. Perhaps the Antichrist's "mortal wound" will also be received in Nisan.

Most commentaries I've read pretty much brush over Zachariah 9-11, mentioned it's most famous verses and thier NT refrences, but not trying to tie them all togather at all. Even J.R. Church's book on the Minor Prophets disappointed me here.

The three shepherds of Israel were the offices of Prophet, Priest, and King. Jesus negated the authority of all three in his day. This was God's prophetic complaint of the Shepherds of Jesus' day. Zechariah 9-14 is solidly Messianic.

Zechariah 11:16 (NKJV)
16 For indeed I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are cut off, nor seek the young, nor heal those that are broken, nor feed those that still stand. But he will eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hooves in pieces.

Jesus completely overrode the maleficence of the leadership of Israel during His ministry in Israel. After He was cutoff - the city was then racing toward Judgment, which we today know happened during 66-70AD.

Same as now, still racing towards judgement, 66 years into being a nation.

lol, you are about to see in your lifetime who God really is.

But please, by all means, do not take my word for it.

The King, priest and Prophet things makes sens,e thanks, I should've thought of that.

I still see the Idol Shepard as Judas however "who leaveth the flock" is intresting to compare to how Yeshua defined him as the only Dsiclpe who is lost, and says his being lost fulfills scripture.
