Yes, but that is because giving birth is a process that gets more intense until the baby is born.
Meteors are not lined up ready to impact us, increasing in size as they go. They are (generally, excepting the kind of situation I posted above) randomly scattered rocks in space that occasionally get sucked in by our gravity.
I guess when it comes to meteors i see it like this.
God sends them to earth. (meaning they are floating around on a predestined course with earth, ordained so by God himself)
Its not a "random" event, or at least thats what I believe.
God does claim direct control over weather phenomenon, why not heavenly objects that pelt and destroy earth?
