• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I saw a video on Youtube titled. "Christians who ended up in Hell who thought they were going to Heaven." The guy who made the video said that he had a near death experience. And supposedly say "lukewarm" Christians in Hell. I didn't watch it. Just saw the title.

I can't even begin to say how scared I am. I mean I've willfully sinned before. I admit it.( I swore a few days ago.) We all have. But God is merciful and will forgive even willful sin.

I am not an Evangelical. I try to see the grey areas in life, etc. I couldn't live thinking that every little thing could corrupt me. I already feel like God doesn't care about me trying to get close to Him.

I am under enough fear and anxiety already. Now I just want to cry. :noooo:

I realize that you didn't watch the video, but how much about it do you actually know? What did he mean by 'lukewarm' Christians? And I wonder if he was a Christian himself, or just like 'saw' other people who were Christians in Hell?

I understand your fear, this is something that I think most people worry about. I worry about it too. The question "Am I doing enough?" is a pretty common one.
What I imagine a 'lukewarm' Christian being is someone who declares themselves a Christian but doesn't pray and doesn't really build a relationship with God in any way. They just kind of say they are.
Am I right about that? I don't know. It's hard to say from an Earthly perspective.

Another thing you have to keep in mind is that it was just a video on YouTube. Who knows what's actually in the video. People constantly try to get "youtube famous" by posting random things. I don't want to automatically label this guy as a liar, but they are out there.
I once saw a video entitled "Proof that God doesn't exist". I didn't watch it but the thumbnail caught my attention. You know what they were using as proof against God? A color wheel. I was like uh, okay? Hahaha.

The point is, you can't believe everything you see on the internet, especially a place as notoriously crazy as YouTube.

Don't worry too much about it hun
God is forgiving, and your extreme anxiety over this indicates that you really care. Based on that, I don't think you're a lukewarm Christian.... Uh, whatever that may be.

Hi,

We should try to perfect our faith. God does not want us to have willful deliberate sin in our lives. He can give you power to overcome sin. If you find any sin you just can't beat, I am sure God will forgive it. But we have to try to forcefully push all sin out of our lives.

What God really wants is relationship. He wants you to spend time with him. As you do he will empower you to overcome sin. He will also bless you the bible says "God is rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".

I believe Forcefully pushing sin out of our lives would make us weary and tired. I believe its something God works with us on. I think praying for God to give us wisdom and to create in us a new heart. We are born sinful. We are born so sinful we dont see our need for saving. Only when God draws us closer to Him because of His grace do we see our need of Jesus. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and then convinces us of our need for Jesus. I believe the moment we call on Jesus to save us Jesus saves us. Gods word tells us Jesus wont cast out any who come to Him. I believe people who ask Jesus to be there Lord amd savior have been lead to do it .
