and noah was an alcoholic ??? that had to come from our resident drinking is a sin advocate ..even though it is not listed in the bible anywhere as sin .. let me think what did noah do ..oh yes he coped with losing every single family relation uncle aunt cousin brother sister father in law outside his immediate family unit and the entire population of the planet ...
and got drunk .. and one who has NEVER known such momentous grief calls him an alcoholic ..? rather presumptuousness methinks .and then it is written "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts."..id hazard a guess and say Noah had a heavy heart .

hey you are either going to do what YOU WILL
or you are going to do what GOD WILLS .

have the decency respect and reverence to ask him ...
some will go because he said to ..some will not go because he said not to ,
what i care the most about is that we are all both willing to ask ,to HEAR ,...AND to obey ...
The article you posted in the OP called him an alcoholic for drinking too much in the movie.

perfectly reasonable consideration .

perhaps not an axe welding murderer threatening to kill his daughter inlaw(is that true .i havt seen it )
but for sure he has a lot to deal with .. i mean wow the WHOLE WORLD -DEAD! and what did noah do .. made wine and got snoshzeld -haha wouldnt we ?

[I must add - as i do often . because i used that particular site to quote from about the movie content -DOES NOT MEAN I ENDORSE that web site ...i have no idea what else its on about i only read the bit about the movie . ]

but hollywood does work from the motivation of the spirit of mammon .. cash money dosh doe crinkles ..it is a worshiper of such .and we do know it is opposed to the truth and we do know there is not a single blockbuster that does not undermine the truth of the lord Jesus .
every time they write a line that assumes there is no god and portray that in the movie as truth ..we are sitting there listening to a demonic doctrine ..
food for thought for all .

Oh my brother I totally agree Hollywood just messed up.
And yeah the artistic license about him wanting to kill daughter in law I'm not sure about that.
But the answer your question yeah I'd probably Imbibe a bit.
:)
Disclaimer: not that I can don't drinking,

All I got to say is that whoever is selling those high horses is making a ton of $$$. There appears to be a sellers market for them in these forums!

A veritable Ponderosa.

In view of all the different movies and books on Bible stories we need to make sure we know the truth. They do give chance to discuss the truth with those that don't know it. Just as Hollywood does with any historical work they try to make an entertaining movie. I just watched two movies on the Johnson county war and northern were close to the truth. In one the main historical characters were actually killed before the fighting started. Yet they lived in the movie. Use this as a time to teach the truth and get others to read the story themselves. Even if their motive is to prove you wrong.

I'm not going to watch a movie that mocks God, and I wonder why anyone who loves God would want to. The only reason I would go see this movie is to find out what is wrong with it so I could help those who saw the movie see it for what it really is.

I haven't read the responses so I'm just posting based on the OP. I think its just a movie, a Hollywood movie at that and it should be taken for what it is. Nothing can substitute reading and knowing The Bible...yes folks not even Hollywood movies and Russell Crowe lol

How is the film spreading false information?

It was never intended to be completely accurate to the Biblical story.

Now if the film was not only very different from the tale in the Bible, but the writers said this is how it happened in the Bible, then yes that would be spreading false information, but that's not the case.

Um we as humans believe in what the eye sees... SHOCKING! isn't it? That is how we are designed. Although being a firm believer in Christ I know the true story. but lets put it this way... say a non believer is interested in the story of Noah but does not care to read it... he then goes and sees Noah the movie, Now this person has a painted picture of what the story of Noah is... Even when what he just saw was inaccurate.

You feed your mind, heart and soul with things your body sees and hears. o_O

So, an unbeliever that isn't going to read the Bible will see a movie that gives an account that is different from the book that he won't read anyway.

You know, If I had my way, I would actually make even more changes to the movie, perhaps even show a different interpretation.

Would be interesting to show Noah's world as a post apocalyptic future. Interesting to see the ruins of a post modern day world.

Perhaps make the Flood more local. If it was that case, we perhaps could be shown civilizations/people not touched by the flood in which Noah was unaware about.

Or make it a story within a story, and near the end of the film, reveal that the story is an allegory/metaphor, and show people writing down the story and their reasons, talking about the theological points, etc.

How is it distracting from the gospel message?

And I do think movies should entertain people and also make people really think about things, I don't think a movie about Noah and the Flood has to be accurate to the Biblical tale for that to happen.
