Thanks to the Internet, the scourge of inappropriate content has grown to enormous proportions:
• Nine out of ten boys are exposed to inappropriate contentography before the age of 18.
• One in five mobile phone searches is for inappropriate contentography.
• A quarter of smartphone owners admit to having inappropriate contentographic material on their phone.
• 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women say they are regular users of inappropriate contentography.
• 56% of divorces involve one party having an obsessive Interest in inappropriate contentographic websites

Sobering statistics for sure. There is cause for hope though, recent studies that children who have grown up with access to internet inappropriate content are somewhat less likely to become compulsive inappropriate contentography viewers as adults than those who grew up in generations where inappropriate content was harder to come by for a child. They seem to be rather "meh" on the whole thing....which is pretty healthy, I think.

Where did these statistics come from?

And frankly I doubt technology has "made" people like or want inappropriate content any more than before; it's just easier to get now. The technology isn't the issue, it's people's attitudes or mindsets that are.

I don't believe that. I reckon that's a lie.
Many researches have data manipulated to fit researchers' own desired result.

Thing is does it also correlate with them having low sex drives or having unrealistic sexual desires: too high expectations from a significant other/partner?

I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd say that a significant minority will have those problems. The majority will know that inappropriate content is to real sex what Pawn Stars is to working in a pawn shop - a scripted fictionalization.
