Prayer is beautiful when it's sincere
I think the congregation took his lessons to heart and couldn't handle it when he softened.

I am sure the LGBT community can't wait for this man to die.
Why was he excommunicated?
Seems like it would be a tad hypocritical to picket at his funeral
I have no love for the man, but I do hope he and his family find peace
Westboro church founder Fred Phelps dies - CNN.com
He has died.
May God forgive him all his sins and his anger and fears be washed away.
I think the congregation took his lessons to heart and couldn't handle it when he softened.
I don't care - we all die sometime.
From what I read, he had only softened when it came to treatment of other Westboro members, and not necessarily his beliefs on outsiders. Did you read differently?I think the congregation took his lessons to heart and couldn't handle it when he softened.
My nephew belongs to the Patriot Guard which is a group that blocks access to military funerals to keep Westboro awayWhy the LGBT community? Seems to me he angered the military and families of dead soldiers more. I bet they can't wait for this man to die.
Me? I don't care - we all die sometime.
Think so, huh?

Westboro picket line broken in Moore, Oklahoma.
No arrests were made, but the Phelps bunch packed up and fled town after only eight minutes.
Video here.
This made me cry. That is just sick. My heart grieves for whatever pain the family is going through... and listening to a bunch of people cheer with joy that they can run off the religious nut jobs isn't what I'd want to hear on the day I mourn the death of my child, or sibling, or parent.
