Palin Re-Writes Dr. Seuss: 'I Do Not Like This Uncle Sam, I Do Not Like His Health Care Scam' - YouTube
"I do not like this Uncle Sam.
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their crony deals.
I do not like this spying, man,
I do not like, 'Oh, Yes we can.'
I do not like this spending spree,
we're smart, we know there's nothing free.
I do not like reporters' smug replies when I complain about their lies.
I do not like this kind of hope,
and we won't take it, nope, nope, nope."

The level of discourse in this country certainly is dropping because of people like her.

Green eggs and ham, butchered, and now about being right to stubbornly reject something.

Maybe next we'll get the right wing version of the Lorax in which it is right to mess up the environment in the name of industry, or possibly a butter battle that praises nuclear weapons.

Just think, years ago someone thought of all people to run on the GOP VP McCain ticket, Palin qualified.

Now, she's just a running joke. Makes headlines once in a while. It's like the gag real so we don't take the GOP party itself seriously when things on the Hill get really weird. Throw in a Palincapade and we laugh it off and forget about the rest of them.

She was the perfect person for that ticket if you wanted a democrat elected.

I was leaning toward voting for McCain before she was named VP and the economy went into free-fall.

I agree. I'd never heard of her when she was introduced at the podium as McCain's running mate. I figured she must be some sharp politician to be chosen for that spot.

Then I saw her interview with Katie Couric and that cleared up my misunderstanding.

I think it was an example of pure politics. They wanted a woman to capture the scorned Hillary Clinton voters, who was fairly ridiculously conservative to capture the scorned very right wing.

The problem being that she wasn't ready or able to play at the national presidential politics level.

So, it's pretty sad that she is still around pandering.

A lot of people saw Palin as just that. A political strategy to sweep up the votes that would have gone to Hillary since she was out of the running before Palin was introduced.

I just can't believe Palin was the best they could do. Of all the women that could be qualified they picked her? She couldn't even cut it carrying out her term as governor.

It wasn't just her being a woman that they wanted, they also wanted a hard line conservative.

So name this person.

Kelly Ayotte is not available to McCain in 2008, many of these people are talk media people, Susan Collins is a north eastern moderate so I guess it's Cathy McMorris Rodgers? she would have been coming off her second term in congress.

She knocked it out of the park. I loved the part when concerning Russia invading the Ukraine she said, "Who could have seen that coming"?

My favourite part about all of these politicians reading Dr. Seuss in political ways is that clearly none of them have actually read the story. The whole point is that the character hates green eggs and ham irrationally because he never gave them a chance to see if they'd taste good/work/be better than he thought. Instead he mindlessly rejected them and insisted on how terrible they were.

The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

Maybe Dr Suess isn't obvious enough for them:

Oh, it is. And the American people have been getting .... well, you know. ;)

I was thinking Condoleezza Rice as his VP. If he wanted to compete in a manner that drew the women's vote and challenged the historicity of electing the first black citizen to the highest office.

Sure but he was already towing a lot of Bush baggage as it was and I am not sure she was willing.
