Hosea 5:8-15 Blow the trumpet in the Holy Land! Raise the battle cry over the Land. Benjamin will lead the way. [Binyamin Netanyahu?]
On the Day of Reckoning and punishment Ephraim will be laid waste, this is the certain doom the Lord has decreed for all of Israel’s tribes. Judah’s rabbis are like those who move boundary stones, therefore He will pour out His wrath upon them like a flood. Jeremiah 8:8, 1 Tim. 1:7
Ephraim is an oppressor trampling on justice, obstinately pursuing what is worthless. So the Lord will be as a festering boil to Ephraim and like rot to the people of Judah. When Ephraim realized his sickness and Judah found his sores, they turned for help to earthly powers, but they had no cure for them. Jer. 13:25
The Lord will be like a lion against Ephraim and as a fierce lion to Judah, He will maul His prey and go, Jer. 4:7-9 leaving them with no hope of rescue. He will return to His dwelling place until they admit their guilt and in remorse they seek their God. In their misery and pain, they will acknowledge their offences and pray for the Lord to heal them. Isaiah 57:15-19, Psalm 41, Jer. 33:6-8, Hosea 14

This is the amazing story of what will happen very soon. How the Lord will instigate His Day of Reckoning and punishment, His terrible judgement of fire that will affect all the world. We read the prophesies such as Psalm 83, how on that Day, He will destroy His enemies, but this passage in Hosea tells us that His people, all twelve tribes of Israel will also face judgement. Their lands will be ‘laid waste,’ but in Jeremiah 30:7 How awful is that Day, when has been the like? A time of anguish for Jacob, [the 12 tribes] yet he will come through it safely. Zechariah 9:14-17
The Lord ‘will maul His prey and go back to His dwelling place’, this undeniably confirms that this Day of wrath, the Sixth seal, is separate and years before the glorious Return.

Jeremiah 50:3-5 A great horde will fall upon the Middle East, [Joel 2:1-11] making all the holy Land a desolate waste, with no one living there; man and beast will all be gone. In those days and at that time, the people of Israel, [the ten Northern tribes] and the people of Judah, [the Jews] will come together and with remorse and tears go in search of the Lord their God. They will seek the way to the holy Land, looking toward Jerusalem and saying: Come, let us join ourselves to the Lord in an everlasting Covenant that will never be forgotten. Hebrews 8:8-13
Jeremiah 31:8-9, Deuteronomy 4:27-31, Ezekiel 37:1-28
Jeremiah 51:50 You who escape the terrible Day of the Lord’s wrath; Go do not linger. Remember the Lord from afar and let Jerusalem come into your minds.
Isaiah 12:1-6 On that Day, you will say: Praise God, my Deliverer… Let this be known in all the world – the Holy One of Israel has Redeemed His people and will be among them. Isaiah 24:23, 2 Thess. 1:10 Ref: REB, NIV, KJV. Paraphrased
The Shekinah glory of God will return to the new Temple, in the same manner as in Solomon’s Temple. Ezekiel 43:4 But when the Anti-Christ conquers Beulah and places his image in the Temple, the Lord will depart along with His holy ones, Daniel 11:32, Rev. 12:14, for the 1260 day period of the great Tribulation. They will live in a place far out of reach of the ‘serpent’ until the Return of Jesus for His Millennial reign. Matthew 24:30-31

Listen My People:

Jeremiah 10:1-25 Listen Israel: This is what the Lord says: Do not learn the ways of the nations or be worried by signs and portents. It is other peoples who are terrified by them. For the gods’ of the nations are shams, just as dumb as scarecrows. Do not fear them, they can do no harm, nor can they do any good. Where can any other be found like You, Lord? You are great and mighty, fear of You is a fitting tribute for the King of the nations. One and all, the nations are stupid and foolish, making idols of materialistic things and worshipping false gods. But the Lord is God in truth, a living God, the eternal King. The earth quakes and no nation can endure His fury. You can be sure, those false gods will disappear on the Day of the Lord’s wrath. .
God made the heavens and the earth by His power, wisdom and knowledge. He controls the wind and rain. Everyone is brutish and ignorant and those who teach false doctrines, promote idolatry and divination will be discredited and will perish when the Day of Reckoning comes. Jacobs God is not like these, for He is the creator of the universe. Israel are the people He claims as His own. Y’hovah/ Y’eshuah is His Name.
Gather up your belongings, to leave the Land you who live under siege. For this is what the Lord says: This time, I shall throw out the whole population of the Land, I shall press them and squeeze them dry. [Zion says:] Oh! The pain of my afflictions, I am laid low and must endure it. My dwellings are destroyed and my people have gone away. Their leaders are senseless, they do not enquire of the Lord, so their flock is scattered. Listen; a rumour comes, a great uproar from the North – a great horde is ready to make Judah desolate. Pour out Your fury on those nations that do not acknowledge You, for they have swallowed Jacob and desecrated his Land.

I am aware, Lord, that one’s ways are not of our own choosing, nor is it within our power to determine our course in life. Correct me, Lord, but with justice, not with anger, lest I be destroyed
Ref: REB,NIV. Abridged and paraphrased

Do not be worried about earthquakes and storms, etc. They are natural events, we just hear about them more, due to better news reporting. We must avoid the idols of our time: materialism, atheism and false religions. Luke 21:34-36
On the Lord’s Day of vengeance, He will judge the idolaters and the godless leaders. Isa 66:17, Jeremiah 3:23-25, Ezekiel 20:30-31, Micah 5:10-15
‘My people, get out, for this time the Land of Greater Israel will be cleared of all evil and apostate people’. Ezekiel 21:3, Jeremiah 12:14 The Land will become empty and desolate, then it will be regenerated, Isaiah 35:1-10, Ezekiel 36:8, and His people will gather to live there in peace and security. Isaiah 11:11-12, Zechariah 10:8-12
“An army assembles against Judah” Psalm 83 – an Ishmaelite confederation. Micah 4:11
“pour out Your fury’, the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath against His enemies, those peoples and nations that do not acknowledge the Lord and hate His people. Haggai 2:22, Isaiah 66:15-16, Zech. 3:8, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 6:12-17
The Lord controls our destiny. We plead for His justice and mercy. Psalm 37:1-40 Pray for His protection on the great Day of His wrath against the nations. Prov. 3:25-26

I have been away for 2 weeks, helping on a renovation project.
Vinsight4u; Yes, I do post scriptures that detail the Lord's day of vengeance and wrath, that will be a terrible destruction of fire from the sky, described in Isaiah 30:26 and Malachi 4:1 as a sunstrike. It is the Sixth Seal event, that will reset civilization, establishing a One World Govt and allowing the Lord's righteous people to go and live in all of the holy land. This is Gods judgement/punishment of the nations, Hab. 3:12, Matthew 3:12 and many other prophesies.
Al our modern infrastructure will be destroyed by the EMP and fires of this disaster, but we know about radio, aircraft, etc and will soon re establish some transport and communications.
Yes, IP, this event will clear and cleanse the entire Middle east, Ezekiel 30:1-5, Jer. 12:14 plus plenty of prophesies that say how Judah will be judged. That this is necessary, we can easily see by the current situation there.

Keras,
why does Zech 9 that you quoted confirm that. Looks to me like he dispenses his wrath and reigns. No gap.

We can see the gap from the sequence given in Revelation that the Day of the Lord's wrath is the Sixth seal. There must be at least 7 years from that, [I believe 'about 20 years' - the 7th Seal] until Jesus Returns.

Zechariah 9:16-17 describes the Lord's people, living in all of the holy Land, being as God always intended; 'a light to the nations, Isaiah 42:6 and displaying His glory'. Ezekiel 39:27

Too confusing for me when that Isaiah passage is happening now; Acts 13:47.

Have you noticed that dispensationalists seem bent on claiming fulfilled prophecies are unfulfilled? Isaiah 42:6 was fulfilled in the days of Paul and Barnabas; and I am one of those fortunate enough to have witnessed that light:

The prophecy:

"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles." -- Isa 42:1

"I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;" -- Isa 42:6

The fulfillment:

"But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed." -- Acts 13:45-48

But how can that be, if Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep?

"But [Jesus] answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." -- Matt 15:24

This is how:

"He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me." -- Matt 10:40

"But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for [Paul] is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:" -- Acts 9:15

The total problem of this thread is that the OP ignores the proper application of the prophecy.

Hosea is announcing the coming judgment of the ENTIRE region, just as Isaiah and Jeremiah did.

Now go to Hosea 5:1:
Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! For the judgment applies to you, For you have been a snare at Mizpah And a net spread out on Tabor.

Now how does one get from there...to our day, except through ignoring what the passage is saying?

It defies logic!

The total problem and defiance of logic of Interplanner, Rev20 and Ebedmelch is they are 'dyed in the wool' preterists. And as my thread; The Wisdom of the wise will vanish' says; those who choose to believe false theories will become locked into them and no matter what anyone points out of end time prophecy, they will see it through their pre-conceived glasses and make it fit past events, however weird and misapplied that may be.
However you three, your efforts are not entirely wasted, because it makes other viewer's of this forum look at the Bible themselves and check passages like Isaiah 42 which will come to pass 'when He sets justice upon the earth' and after He 'lays waste to mountain and hill'. Only then will You that are deaf, hear now and you that are blind will look and see.

Keras, may we assume you don't believe the Disciples were the light of the world, and the Apostle Paul was a light to the Gentiles?

All one has to do is read the context! Your total error is that this is the Lord speaking through Hosea. Hosea told you of the time of his prophecy at Hosea 1:1:
1 The word of the Lord which came to Hosea the son of Beeri, during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

If one READS without bringing preconceived notions to the prophecy it will tell you how to apply it. Obviously you're not. All you have to do is go to 2 Kings and start at about chapter 15 along with 2 Chronicles starting at chapter 20 and include the prophets mentioned. Hosea's hint to you is the beginning of his prophecy. To make sense of it you MUST READ what Israel and Judah were both doing against the Lord and you can understand. In addition to Hosea, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Amos, and Micah have also prophesied of this time! One only needs the total picture to understand, and compare scripture with scripture.

You choose the phrase "dyed in the wool" as something to justify what you're saying? It doesn't!

Isaiah 42 takes care of itself, within itself. Verses 1 and 2 puts your ideas to rest...Isaiah 42:1, 2:
“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.
2 “He will not cry out or raise His voice, Nor make His voice heard in the street.
3 “A bruised reed He will not break

This is prophetic to the coming of Christ and in NO way should be linked to your ideas of the future.

What does it do in helping the people who read you, when you don't rightly divide God's word? This is what you say in your OP:
This is the amazing story of what will happen very soon. How the Lord will instigate His Day of Reckoning and punishment, His terrible judgement of fire that will affect all the world. We read the prophesies such as Psalm 83, how on that Day, He will destroy His enemies, but this passage in Hosea tells us that His people, all twelve tribes of Israel will also face judgement. Zechariah 9:14-17
The Lord ‘will maul His prey and go back to His dwelling place’, this undeniably confirms that this Day of wrath, the Sixth seal, is separate and years before the glorious Return.
You're going to be at a loss for words when this doesn't happen...and once again your error of pushing fulfilled events into today will have failed.

The scriptures don't make errors...but you make a lot because you force your view onto scripture.

You chose Psalm 83 also, and the Psalm itself shows you're in error because these things . It tells you in verses 4-8 what is happening to them. Now...go read 2 Chronicles 20:5-13. That's what Psalm 83 is about Keras!

One of the neat things about the Is 42 passage is it is one place where the OT shows us that the Christian believer becomes a light by being in the Light who is Christ. Isaiah was speaking to the people but saying that they would become lights by conveying Christ's message.

All a person has to do is declare that Messiah has come and taken our sins upon himself in love for us, and you have everything the OT was speaking of.

Rev20, the disciples and Paul spread the Light, so we Christians could be salt and light to the world. Matthew 5:11-17 But prophecy tells us there will be a final fulfilment, when the new nation of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5 will at last be a nation that will achieve the destiny that God planned. Isaiah 49:6, Ezekiel 39:27

Ebed, you don't like 'dyed in the wool'? How about 'stuck in the mud'?
Your determination to prove your belief that all prophecy is history, makes your rebuttals somewhat ridiculous, when you quote verses that I and everyone else, knows pertain to the first Advent of Jesus, then say that relates to the rest of the chapter. Remember that the Bible was written without chapter or verse breaks, so we must discern the proper timing for each section. Did He 'lay waste to mountain and hill' then? Did all those who were [spiritually] blind perceive Him?

This fire judgement, prophesied over 70 times throughout the Bible WILL happen. Peter warns you in 2 Peter 3:7 & 10.

It's true Keras, but you may have confused some other OT events with it, and are trying to stretch the end of the world out into many sequential puzzles to be solved, when that hardly matters, does it? What matters is only that there is a day of judgement and whether there is justification from our sins. Making Rom 3 the most valuable declaration in the Bible.
