Hot irons only turn that sinfully delicious substance into a drinkable form. That way I can use just a glass instead of a spoon and bowl (when I use one. I eat mine right out of the carton).1st Timothy 1-5
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
Thank you Jesus for Raspberry Ice Cream. it's yummy! Amen.

Can you tell I like hot August days?
My those were the days of being a paperboy on a heavy bicycle. Averaged 50 or so papers a day on a 10 mile or so route.
One can have a soda float by changing the soda and ice cream to suit their own tastes. I merely described the traditional root beer ice cream float. I like a half sprite/coke soda. That's kinda close to a German Bavarian flavor called spatice (spelling). I really miss it.Hmmmmm .... I'm not that big on root beer, and never buy vanilla ice cream, but with that description, I just might have to try when the weather gets hot.

Some like it in tea or coffee. Cider with cinnamon it great!!!!Root beer float doesn't sound bad though.
I admit, I used to make a drink with half Sprite, half juice, and fruit sherbet. Most yummy - I need to start doing that again!
I wonder if there is a combination that would taste good with cinnamon ... ?

My only thought about raspberry ice cream is it should taste like raspberries.
I prefer chocolate myself, but my understanding of God's intent is that all things should be what they are - not imitate something else.
This includes Christians.
Strain them out.raspberry ice cream..... might not be holy enough ..... because it is a little bit seedy
I thought the question was about the theology of raspberry ice cream! and or it's allegorical meaning!Strain them out.
I think it's ok to enjoy our food, as long as it doesn't make us greedy or we are not trusting in our riches to provide us comfort.
Luke 9:23-24
Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.
John 12:25
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
How can you say you hate your life in this world and enjoy yourself with things in this world? That's an oxymoron.
Because if you really hated material things, or let's drop the "hate" word, let's just say material things are of no value to you (John 6:63). Why don't give it away to those whose survival may depend on it? Like the poor (Luke 12:33)? Why not give so generously that you end up with very few things to yourself. I'm not saying we quit our jobs. What I"m saying why not live like a Janitor, having only a small cheap apartment, cheap used car, few cheap things, even if we're a CEO in a huge multinational company? So you can give more to God's Kingdom? To save a lot of kids from starvation as one example?
Do we put ourselves first before others? Allow evil to gain a foothold in this world with impunity? Do we really hate ourselves if put ourselves ahead of others? Did Jesus or any of His disciples put their welfare ahead of others?
Mr. Collum, I concede your point.
Just to be clear, I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I certainly do not advocate inflexibility nor unwillingness to learn.
My thought is that everyone has personal strengths and weaknesses and I should not endeavor to be 'another Paul'; even if I emulate him in some regards. Nor should I try to be another Billy Graham.
God has stuff for us all to do, being who we are.
