There was a lot of alcohol and drug abuse around me when I was growing up; but since I became a Baha'i at fifteen, I never got involved in it.

Good for you! :) :)

As for myself, I was the consumate mad scientist in my early days.

When I was in fourth grade, my father visited a cemetery and discovered a high-school biology book leaning aginst a tombstone with nobody else around. Since it was about to rain, he picked it up, brought it home, and gave it to me.

I devoured that thing; and in particular it had a chapter titled "Alcohol, Drugs, and Tobacco" which greatly impressed me. Because of having read that, I never smoked, drank alcohol, or got involved with "recreational" drugs! And this was decades before I'd even heard of the Baha'i Faith, let alone when I eventually joined it.

Every now and then things work out for the best! :) :)

Oh yeah here are the other two questions

A) What is your experience with drugs and drug culture?

Lots of drugs. Most commonly used were heroin, MDMA, weed, DXM (Robitussin ), LSD, mushrooms, and assorted downers

B) Have you ever had an addiction?

Yes. Got stuck on heroin and then methadone for treatment. Strangly got addicted to DXM too though I wasn't totally physically dependent on it , it was more mental. I kind of got too used to the dissociative effect of disconnecting with my body (except with my lungs and breathing it increased connection with my breathing but the rest of my body was sort of detached ) and emotions and then I could have interesting little trips in my mind where I could visualize things or think through subjects I was reading about in my books. Often it was kind of like a deep meditative experince but without the hassle of meditating for ever waiting to finally get into the deep state.

This doesn't seem very world religionish though. Might want to ask to move it to a differnt thread.

A) I have used Psychedelics before and see them as an important part of why I believe in God today! :) God used DMT to save me from committing Suicide 6yrs ago when I was at my lowest point. I think they can all be useful tools but DMT stands alone, as an endogenous key to a very specific door.

B)I have never had any issues with Psychedelics, but did fight off a 10+ year addiction to Alcohol. I owe all thanks to God for getting me out of the mess my life was.

C)I think MDMA would be useful for some folks, but probably a ways off still from gaining full support in everyday clinical settings.

Hello, I don't know if it is appropriate to post a thread about this unless its approved by a moderator.

A) What is your experience with drugs and drug culture?

B) Have you ever had an addiction?

C) Is it approved to use MDMA-Ecstasy in Therapy sessions?

Or give input on whether you don't use drugs at all (Are clean and sober) or whether you have experience with drug use.

This is find out information about it from other people. Please discuss

My younger life was full of all kinds of drugs, later it became the plant allies which sent me flying above - I have a Kite in my Astrological chart, I like to soar.

I learned many things throughout life, being 47, I would like to share this on the topic-

You don't need drugs to make you soar or rise above, it works for some (temporally) but destructive to others. It's like a walker, some can move beyond and began to walk, others it dehibilitates them more and they become dependant on it.

As far as Therapy goes - try deep breathing and exhaling, (exhaling completley and expelling negativity, take new life in breathing deeply renewing yourself) if that doesn't cleanse your mind then empty it regurally via Yoga Meditation.

Only as a last resort revert to substances in the body beyond nutritious foods and drinks, a doctor could give you somethings to end the cravings temporarilly - realize it's a monkey on your back carrying around and lighten the load gradually.

For the insane perhaps a psycadelic could help them awake and realize or change their thought processes - with proper guidance. A last ditch effort but if I was insane I would rather have Ecstasy than other more powerful ones like LSD but in theory would be open to what works - better than being locked away somewhere.

If your not insane and take these they can make you insane (like my girlfiend in school) - if you had a good experience don't recomend it to others because everyone is differant, for you might gain your mind back while another might completley loose theirs.
