The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Things are just a bit stressful. He is having a VCUG for kidney reflux on the 18th. He is also going through testing (again) for Asperger's. Both have me really running on low. Just typing this I am tearing up. It's hard for me to focus on anything else. Thank you for asking. That means a lot to me. I am praying for you and feeling bad I haven't answered your posts. I just feel totally drained.

I can only imagine hun... I obviously don't have children so I don't know but I am sure I would be worried sick to. Let me know how things go okay? I tend to worry a ton to so I know what's it's like not to be able to focus. You just have that awful feeling in your stomach ugghhh... I'm sorry you're going through this!
Don't worry about replying to me. Not to much going on really. Probably gonna quit dancing soon I got my seasonal job back so I am gonna cut back to just dancing friday and saturday nights. Hope to maybe get a promotion soon and be able to quit. That's pretty much it.

I am so happy to hear you are doing well and got your seasonal job back! That's awesome! I would be so happy for you if you get to quit dancing! What a blessing that would be

Yes, I shouldn't be so worried...should be trusting God more... but we were told after having my son tested at the local school district that he needs more testing. We went through this about a year or so ago. I am just praying that he is okay. I am also just worried about his upcoming VCUG too. I am praying God has healed him of kidney reflux- there's always that possibility!

Thanks Court! I'm really happy to be working again. It can be a means to an end and gives me some big time hope that I can get out. It's funny, I rarely have ever thought of my life without stripping. It's scary how tied you can be with the industry once you get in and get isolated. So just hoping I get out soon but I will have to wait a little while.
I remember your son being tested before and how hard that was on you. I'm sorry you have to do it again. I will pray that he is okay to. It's okay to be worried it's your son hun. It's up to god and things happen for a reason but were human so we worry.

I am soooooooooo glad that you have hope and have found a job! It is funny that once you are in the industry it's hard to imagine being out of it. I know. It really is a sub-culture all it's own. But you are doing it! I am so happy for you!
Yes - I have always been the type of person that gets easily consumed by something. It's hard for me to focus on other things if something is troubling me. My son is my everything so the thought (again) that something is wrong is just agonizing. We are on a waiting list for the testing so it will be awhile. Part of me is wondering if we should even do the testing because we are going to home school - but the other part of me knows that if he needs outside intervention (occupational therapy for example) it's best to do it while he's young.

I haven't been on the forums in quite some time. Mainly due to the fact that life has become way too busy and partly due to the fact that I have been a target for trolls and harassment and I seriously just don't have the time for that.
I just want to update this thread by letting people know that I have been diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism). It explains so much of my life.
For those that have left me kind and encouraging messages while I have been gone, I want to say thanks.

Court, thanks for sharing your journey its a real privileged to read how you have become such an awesome woman we all know and love today....
I dont know other ex workers get on, personally I have a really hard time when I see pastors speaking out about the moral decline in society, especially knowing some of them have a public face that is very different to their private face
