No, God is the same in the past, in the present, and in the future. People have changed. Those living under the Old Covenant (including some "Christians" that put themselves under the law) have a totally different relationship with God than those born of the Spirit and live in Christ under the New Covenant.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true law of God from the beginning and forever.

Many Old Testament laws are no longer the same as the Law of the Gospel because the Jewish scribes changed the law of God into a lie. The prophets tell us so:

"...but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD. "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie". (Jeremiah 8:7-8)
"Woe to those who give wicked laws and scribes who write tyrannical prescriptions to set aside the poor and violate the rights of the underdog of my people, to rob widows and orphans" (Isaiah 10.1 -2)

"And the land is defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the commandments, broken the everlasting covenant" (Isaiah 24: 5-6).

"He says, therefore, the Lord: Because this people draw near me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which have been taught" (Isaiah 29.13).

And Jesus Christ, remembering the words of the prophet Isaiah, also told the scribes and Pharisees who were teaching the commandments of men:

"Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
This people honors me with their lips;
But their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me,
Teaching for doctrines commandments of men"
(Matthew 15.7-9

Dear friends, this is what happened, what the prophets tell us: The God's law was changed by the scribes. For this reason, the Old Testament's law is different to the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Anyone obeying the commandments of Christ, will not break the ten of His Father.

Christ's commandments are the commandments of the Father ... The commandments of the Old Testament are different. The commandments of the Old Testament were changed by the escrtbas, as the prophets say:

"...but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD. "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie". (Jeremiah 8:7-8)

"He says, therefore, the Lord: Because this people draw near me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which have been taught" (Isaiah 29.13).

Teaching for doctrines commandments of men"
(Matthew 15.7-9

The Ten Commandments were put into place only to show our sin nature.

God always knew we could not live without sin that's why he sent his son, our Savior Jesus.

Jesus died for our sins.

By excepting Jesus into our lives we no longer live under the law. Those who do not except Christ will stay under the curse.

Jesus fulfilled the law for those who believe in him. The Law became Grace and Righteousness.

The ten commandments were not the whole law. And they Don't differ from the two that Jesus gave, but if you Don't trust what men wrote down, then how do you know anything in the NT is right.

What is found in the Gospel is love, mercy and forgiveness.

What is found in the Old Testament laws are slavery, death sentences, sacrifices and genocides.

The Ten Commandments of the Old Testament do prohibit work on the Sabbath, and they say that men can have slaves. The commandments of the Gospel do not speak any of those things.

The Ten Commandments of the Old Testament do prohibit work on the Sabbath, and they say that men can have slaves. The commandments of the Gospel do not speak any of those things.

The Old Testament commandments were abolished by Christ's commandments.

Jesus taught to the people the true commandments of God... The scribes had changed the law. The prophet Jeremiah says so:

"...but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD. "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie". (Jeremiah 8:7-8)

Jesus came to teach us the true Law and the true commandments of God, and He tell us:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7: 12)

Jesus teaches to a rich man, the precepts of the Law

"And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions" (Matthew 19: 16-22

These are the commandments of the Gospel, which are very different to the commandments of the Old Testament, for all the commandments of the Gospel are merciful, but many commandments of the Old Testament commanded death sentences, wars and slavery.
And those commandments weren't really God's Law.

Jesus didn't abolish slavery, or the death sentence, he even healed the centurion's servant with no comment on slavery. God gave ten commandment 's all were merciful and teaching us how to treat Him and each other with Love. Also as for death sentences, there is no death to GOD, all those gone before, are not dead to him. He is still their GOD, and He is God of the living, whether they are alive physically or otherwise. Jesus taught forgiveness and repentance. He did not say God's laws were unjust. Just the way men used them to their own ends.

Porque77, you say "The Old Testament commandments were abolished by Christ's commandments." In Matthew's gospel Jesus says "“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them." It is very, very important to understand that, for those who have not accepted Christ as their savior, God's law still applies to them. That is the only way they could be judged.

You are completely wrong. Jesus abolished slavery when he said the following:

" But having called them, Jesus said, You know that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship over them, and the great ones exercise authority over them. But it will not be so among you. But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your servant; Even as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many". (Matthew 20:25-29)

You see, friend, Jesus Christ, with his commandments and his life example, abolished slavery. In addition, we have the Law of God as taught by Jesus Christ, and into the God's Law there is not slavery. The Law of God says so:

"all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets". (Matthew 7:12)

God's law says that if you want be free, you must let men be free. Whatever you want men should do to you, so you also must do with them. If you do not want them to enslave you, you must not enslave others, it's the same as saying the following:

"all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets". (Matthew 7:12)

God gave ten commandment 's all were merciful and teaching us how to treat Him and each other with Love.
The Old Testament law is not only the Ten Commandments, but have over 600 precepts. Many are commandments of death sentences, wars, genocides, slavery and sacrifices... The Gospel not commands such things.

Jesus taught forgiveness and repentance. He did not say God's laws were unjust. Just the way men used them to their own ends.
Jesus simply abolished many laws of the Old Testament. And why abolished those laws? Simply, because they were not true Law of God, for Jesus came not to abolish the true law of God, but to teach us the true Law of God, which says so:

"all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets". (Matthew 7:12)

Porque77, you say "The Old Testament commandments were abolished by Christ's commandments." In Matthew's gospel Jesus says "“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. Hello, friend pescador. The law that Jesus came not to abolish is the Law of the Gospel, which is the true Law of God. But Jesus Christ abolished many commandments of the Old Testament (Matthew 5:31-48, Matthew 12:1-8, John 5:8-11, John 5:16-18, John 8:3-11 and the whole context of the Gospel)

The Gospel says: "Think not that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets..." (Matthew 5:17-20) .

In these words are based many religions to tell us that Jesus Christ came not to abolish the commandments of the Old Testament, but that is a mistake because these gospel words do not refer to the law of the Old Testament, because Jesus Christ abolished many commandments of the Old Testament, as we see in Matthew 5: 31-48 and other parts of the Gospel.

The words of Jesus Christ in this famous verse (Matthew 5: 17), which tells us that He did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets, refers to the true Law of God, which is the Law that Jesus Christ himself taught us in the Gospel. Jesus Christ teaches that the law and the prophets that He did not come to abolish is the following:

"All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7: 12) .

Therefore, this is the law that God gave to Israel because Jesus Christ himself says that "this is the law and the prophets". This is the law that remains in effect, that Jesus Christ came not to abolish ("Think not that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets"). And of this law did pass "not one jot not one tittle", of the Law that Jesus Christ teaches us in the Gospel and that is the true Law that God gave to Moses.

Dear friend pescador, The True Law that God gave to Moses is the Law that Jesus taught us in the Gospel, because he himself tells us that this is the Law and the Prophets:

"All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7: 12) .
Now I also remember the Law of Jesus Christ expressed in commandments, as the Gospel teaches:

"And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

And this law and these commandments ar in effect for all peoples.

However, no one is under the laws of the Old Testament that were abolished by Jesus Christ, because those laws were not true Law of God. We are all under the Law and the commandments of Christ, which are the only true Law of God.

“That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

God’s righteousness didn’t change; it’s impossible for God to change.

“Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother

These commandments are still in effect.
Jesus cane and died to give us the POWER to keep the righteousness of God’s moral law.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. “

Jesus came and died so that we as born-again-of-the-Spirit sons of God could be righteous before God by following the Spirit.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. “
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”

:amen::amen::amen:

"God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the requirements of the law would be fully accomplished by us." {Romans 8:1-4 NLT}

"If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill all the requirements of God's law. For the commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are all summed up in this one commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." {Romans 13:8-10 NIV, NLT}

God Bless, and keep on searching.
But just remember: "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." {Jeremiah 29:13 KJV}

"Therefore love is the fulfilling of the law". This shows you that the true Law that God gave Moses is the Law and the commandments that Jesus taught us in the Gospel.

Jesus himself said that the Law and the prophets is this:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7: 12)

And also, Jesus teaches to a rich man, the precepts of the Law:

"And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? These are the commandments of the Gospel, which are very different to the commandments of the Old Testament, for all the commandments of the Gospel are merciful, but many commandments of the Old Testament commanded death sentences, wars and slavery.

To find God, the first thing to understand is that the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospel, reveal the true Law of God.

True Law that God gave to Moses, are not all the laws of the Old Testament (of which many commanded: wars, death sentences, slavery and sacrifices). Those laws were not the true Law of God, because Jesus himself said that the Law and the prophets is this:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7: 12)

Jesus taught us in the Gospel that the Law of God commanded mercy. Jesus Christ says so:

"all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets". (Matthew 7:12)

"If you had known what this means, I want mercy and not sacrifice, you wouldn’t have condemned the innocent" (Matthew 12:7)

Even the Old Testament says that God's law commanded mercy:

"For mercy I want and not sacrifice; and full knowledge of God rather than whole burnt-offerings". (Hosea 6:7)

"O son, my laws forget not, and my sayings give heed to in your heart! For the length of existence and years of life and peace shall be added to you. Charity and trust - do not let them fail to you, but affix them upon your neck, and write them upon the tablet of your heart, and you shall find favor! And think beforehand on the good things before the LORD and men". (Proverbs 3:1-4)

The mercy was what commanded the true Law of God.

"And the land is defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the commandments, broken the everlasting covenant" (Isaiah 24: 5-6).

Dear friends, this is what happened, what the prophets tell us: The God's law was changed by the scribes. For this reason, the Old Testament's law is different to the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Hi Mr. Porque,

I suppose in all these hundreds and hundreds of posts someone may have already said this to you, but... I must tell you, I hope in love: you have a very serious misunderstanding of what those passages you use to support your belief are saying.

Yes, they do say, the scribes "changed the commandments." But nowhere do they say that those same scribes who did that are the ones who wrote the Old Testament.

Before I say any more: Has no one ever tried to prove that to you?

God Bless, and as Paul says, "Prove all things."

Love God, Love people as yourself.

Upon these two laws all laws hang, following these will cause you to be respecting God and other people, and will lead you to doing nothing bad, or evil, or ill against them, or God.

Two things God detests: Selfishness & Hypocrisy.

I highlighted the 2 times Paul used that word "fulfill" so I could connect what he says there to what he says at the end of chapter 3; which is the great chapter on salvation by faith, not by the law. Only this time I'm going to replace the word "faith" with the word "love."

"Well then, if we emphasize [love,] does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have [love] do we truly fulfill the law." {Romans 3:31 NLT}

God Bless

Oh yes: We mustn't forget possibly the most important "love" verse of all: "Love comes from God." {1 John 4:7 NIV}

If the two laws of love would have come first (before the ten) then some might have asked "well what does that (love) mean?" Then you have to go to the original law covenant, that explains what you will not do, if you love perfectly. Therefore the sets of rules, laws had to come before the command to love, because some might have said (about the two) "well, what does that mean?" and it took Jesus to explain it, and the original ten (and others) to know what Love does not do.:)

Yes, they do say, the scribes "changed the commandments." But nowhere do they say that those same scribes who did that are the ones who wrote the Old Testament.

That's just a thought of yours. But the prophets say what they say: that scribes had changed the law in a lie. And what the prophets say, we should respect. The prophets say so:

The prophets tell us that God's law was changed by the scribes. And in the Old Testament there are many precepts that are contrary to the commandments of the Gospel. This shows that in the Old Testament there are many precepts that were not really given by God but they were precepts of men.
