There is a division of faith. Anytime one or more faith believes different than the others ( more importantly, believes different compared with what the Word says ) and stands apart from the rest the body because of that belief then that is a division. It divides the body of Christ!
"If Jesus had intended his church to be bound to a fixed set of rules"...He did. His teachings! Remember... "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. If ye love me, keep my commandments"
Not if you keep a few, not if you keep one or two here and there and must certainly not....ah your good, just do what you want!
There may be many interpretations of the Word but there is only one truth and it is that truth that we are meant to seek out through the Holy Spirit. Not the selfish, prideful and worldly truth that is taught in FAR to many churches today!
Show me a denomination that does not follow Jesus' two commandments, the Great Commission, and the ten Commandments. Show me one that does not agree with the Apostle's Creed (or Nicene Creed). If they do not, then they are not Christian. But for all that do, they are the body of Christ.
There is no division of FAITH between all the denominations of the Church. There is only a division of DOCTRINE.
Even if there was One True Church, it would have church buildings and congregations all over the world, right? Isn't that also "divided" since they are not in one place as the church was in Acts 2?
