California transgender student law could quickly face challenge

Will be stayed if enough signatures collected for public vote

A first-of-its-kind California law on transgender students goes into effect Wednesday, but its authority could end in a week if state officials find that enough registered voters want to challenge it in November.
State officials are scheduled to report on Jan. 8 whether they have received enough valid signatures to put the law, AB 1266, up for a public vote. If they have enough, the law will be stayed.

I hope they get those signatures. Until I heard news concerning this law that permits boys to walk into any restroom they want to simply by claiming that they believe themselves to be girls, I would never have believed that any legislature could be so arrogant as to spit in the faces of their own constituents. And that is exactly what they have done via their exposing their daughters to these perverts.

That this wasn't put up for a vote in California says a lot. I'd say its because even though California is known for being Democrat, the proponents of this measure learned from the Proposition 8 voter outcome that a vote to allow trans people to violate their children's privacy would never fly.

Instead, the gay lobby manages more and more to get gays into state legislature positions and then the proponents of bills that bolster their agenda get introduced. And those gays in the legislature pass them through.
It's that grass roots level that is changing this country into the 21st century Sodom and Gomorrah. Something that is not escaping the Christian community on and off line.

I don't know how this measure can even hope to stand! How can it be legal to violate the privacy of little girls?

My cousin was coming home from a long road trip. Deadheading from Key West Florida to Tallahassee. He stopped at a rest stop and the mens bathroom was out of order. The women's rest room was locked! How does that happen?
So he goes behind the building just to pee. Now, it's dark, no lights behind there.
He finishes his private business, walks back onto the sidewalk. Not adjusting himself, not zipping up, nothing. He's simply walking when a local officer who had just parked and evidently imagined he'd go to the restroom sees my cousin walking from behind the building.

He cites him for indecent exposure!
And he was walking! The officer said it was because it is his right to presume when the men's room was out of order and the women's locked, that my cousin had committed the offense!

IN THE DARK! Behind a building. And the cop never saw this. Just presumed and wrote the ticket.

How on the earth then does this California law pass? Look at what rights it gives that minority! While stripping and threatening the majority. And by advancing indecent exposure. And all because all someone has to do is claim they're the opposite sex than they appear!
And even for the sports teams this excuse works! Great! A guy on the girls volleyball team! That's fair to the girls on the opposite team!

The school staff have to agree to address a kid by the pronoun that the kid claims as their hidden identity contrary to their natural God given gender.

I bet we'll hear about a student who's family sues a staff member of a California school for not complying with that particular rule. It's inevitable.

My one transgender friend once said that it is stupid that the entire population needs to bend over backwards for such a small percentage of people.
It is! I quite agree.
When a male claims to be a woman but has male body parts, why should he have the right to enter an area where females are in various states of undress or are using the restroom facilities?

How is that male who claims he has a woman inside him suddenly not able to use a facility with other anatomically identical males?
Is it because he's afraid he'll face reprisals because he dresses like a girl? Well how does that shake out? When he dresses like a girl but has the equipment of a boy and wants to bring that out in private area's where girls are suppose to feel safe among their own?
He's afraid to be a girl in front of guys, but girls are expected to give concession to a boy who wants to enter their private space because he claims to be one of them but with a penis?

The inmates are writing the rules for the asylum!

Sarah, my name is Sarah too. I don't understand why your cousin did not zip up his pants and cover himself. Was he "airing himself out to dry?" It seems perverted and dirty to go around showing yourself like that. I guess it was dark and nighttime, no one could see him, except for the cop. Was he arrested?

Anyway, I think gay lesbian transgender people are mentally sick. In the past they were considered mentally ill and were sent to psychiatrists and sometimes put in mental institutions. I know there was abuse, psychiatrists abused a lot of their patients in the past, it still happens today.

Today acceptance and tolerance is preached from every corner, there is no such thing as normal, we're all different, people are seen as individuals.

Christians are persecuted for holding on to traditional values. The Bible says we must not be sexually immoral. Purity, chastity, is part of being a Christian. But the world is full of lust, it does not value modesty and purity.

The world pressures us to accept homosexuality. We are not to hate people who are gay lesbian or transgender, we are to hate the sin but love the sinner. Gays need God's love and mercy. Jesus died on the cross to save homosexuals as well as heterosexuals.

God gives us our natural genders for a reason. If someone is unhappy with their natural God-given gender they need to talk about it, with a counselor, or perhaps a minister or Sunday school teacher, a doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist or school teacher, or their parents, grand parents, brother or sister, But best of all they can go to Jesus Christ, who is the "wonderful counselor" and pour out their heart to the Lord about how they feel unhappy being a boy or girl and do not like the gender they were born.

I am a girly girl, I like getting dressed up and I still collect dolls I am very glad the Lord made me a woman. Some girls are naturally tomboys that are good at sports and are tough. Some boys are more refined, they might be called sissies or Mama's boys and they like cooking, home making stuff, fashion, home decor, gardening, art, etc. Some women might want to join the army. Some men might want to be fashion designers. This doesn't necessary make them gay.

Anyway, I think gay lesbian transgender people are mentally sick. In the past they were considered mentally ill and were sent to psychiatrists and sometimes put in mental institutions.

While yes, it was considered such (for a while in the mid 1800s to the late 1900s, anyway), so were a lot of things. Like women who with "overactive nerves" - you know, those women whose husbands felt were too uppity and opinionated and "worried". Or people with "lunacy". Or people that masturbated (sorry for the graphic nature of that comment).

I don't think we should go by what was once considered a mental illness before psychology and psychiatry even became a truly viable science...

Personally, I find it silly that the state would go so far as this law.

But! I also think it possible that humans could actually be transgendered and it not be some weird mental illness, so to speak. I think it pertinent to keep two things in mind:
-We are living in a fallen world, for one things - which opened the way for all manner of illness, confusion, and malfunction of God's design.
-Also that we are living in a society whereby we not only have the God-given biological differences of the sexes but also societal norms that may or may not actually derive from the biological differences.

"At least 504,760 signatures were required to force a public vote on the statute approved by the California Legislature and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown last year. The law's opponents submitted 619,387, but county election officers determined that just 487,484 of them were valid, according to a final count posted on the secretary of state's website Monday."
