Viking kicker Kluwe "I Was Fired for being gay"
Fmr. Viking Kluwe: ‘I Was Fired By Mike Priefer, A Bigot’ « CBS Minnesota
Quote coach Mike Priefer
“I vehemently deny todays allegations made by Chris Kluwe."

Lesbian waitress behind tip story also lied
LifeSiteNews Mobile | Lesbian waitress behind viral tip story also lied about serving in Afghanistan, brain cancer: report

This story of a Viking kicker fired by the coach immediatly reminded
me of the story of a Lesbian waitress being refused a tip
because of her lifestyle, which also turned out to be false.

I tend to believe the coach because I know ths NFL is politicaly
correct to a fault. Remember the story a couple of weeks ago,
NFL refuses "Super Bowl" ad to gun company. Priefer knew he
would be fired if this were true.

This seems to be a growing trend of the "LGBT" community to
gain sympathy for them as well as their cause. Gain media attention.
And to discredit conservatives and especially Christians.

My opinion is that this never happened, just like the Lesbian waitress tip story never happened.

[BIBLE]

Matthew 10:26 Fear them not therefore, for there is
nothing covered, that shall not be revealed and
nothing hidden, that shall not be made known

Numbers 32:23 ...and be sure your sin will find you out.

He could indeed be lying.

Here's his stats when he was with the vikings: Chris Kluwe

After the dishonorably discharged lesbian waitress scandal, I'd hope people would be wary of taking a gay at their word when they make accusations like this. It's very easy as they know to think to call the terrorist troops of GLAAD and others to an attack on an innocent employer or franchise like the Vikings, just by saying: I was fired for being gay!

Thinking this will then supersede the true reasons because everyone will rally against the so called bigot that offended gay has just charged with a lie.

We'll have to see how this goes with the Vikings. If Kluwe is lying I'd hope he'd be punished in some way by the NFL the way he hopes to have the Vikings punished if/when he's lying.

I read his story that the coach told him to not kick for distance but to kick shorter with hang time 'cause his special teams sucked and couldn't get that far down field. You seen the Vikings special teams? They suck.

PS: Hey. Who's that hippie dude in your signature? He looks like someone I used to know in Berkeley in the 60's.

Was the special teams sucking his comment?

If so I'd expect a coach to want him gone unless his stats were outstanding. His stats are not outstanding.

Honestly it seems to me that kickers are getting better every year. He seems to have pretty much stood still which means he quite likely went from being pretty good to being middle of the pack or worse.

That headline is wrong-- Kluwe was not fired (nor does he claim he was fired) for "being gay" but he does claim he was fired for advocating same-sex marriage. AFAIK Kluwe hasn't claimed to be gay. Currently he is married to a woman.

If he was fired for his stance on gay marriage, then it's disgraceful, and he should sue them for every penny he can. As I said about the Robertson case, I hate it when people are so intolerant of someone else's views they would be willing to fire them for it- especially when those views have no impact on the job being done.

This is what confused me about the OP. I recall Kluwe being in the news a couple years ago for being one of the few public supports of SSM in the NFL. Never heard he was gay, nor have I seen any article indicating he was fired for being gay.

Maybe right wing conservatives need to stop calling out others for lying, when it seems they're the one's doing the lying to attack people they don't like.

Yeah...I just did a search as soon as I saw this because I thought I had missed something big here - I remembered him being very pro-SSM a while back and it making news, but was sure he was married and all.

But nope, just a purposely misleading thread title.

I see what you mean, but I also see the company's side. They are in a business - in the Robertson case, making TV shows, in this one, maintaining a fan base to pack stadiums during games - and in either case, an employee directly saying something that may (potentially) hurt the business image for that franchise is subject to the company taking action.

I kind of doubt that him being in support of gay marriage was the reason, the only and sole point that cost him his contract, but I can see how it may have potentially hurt his career with the Vikings. Especially given the crude, crass manner in which he worded his open letter on the subject...

[He had it posted to HuffingtonPost by the by, so you can search for it if you like but I will not link to since it is, well...it has a lot of cussing and crude language]

Actually, he'd have a very hard time proving this accusation. While the Vikings can certainly consider suing him in a counter suit if Kluwe takes the first shot.

Purposely misleading thread title, the article is not titled that way. It was the OP who was doing the misleading, just to be clear.

That is what I meant but...wrong wording.

Thank ya! (Editing now for correct usage.)

Just to add: It would probably benefit this thread if a Moderator altered the subject line to reflect the truth of the article itself.

I don't know. The irony of a thread calling one erroneously assumed to be gay person's veracity into question due to a lesbian lying about something once having a lie in its title is rather piquant.

Yeah, lying about someone because you think they are lying because someone else once lied is delicious.

When I first read his blog, all that came to mind was sour grapes. He was not a great asset to the team and he himself said he had had several lackluster games leading up to the replacement.

They DID tell him that he could be as outspoken as he wanted but not as a representative of the team.

And that prohibition as far as representing the team with his public views is standard.

The NFL and the teams are all invested in franchise interests. They can't be seen to go political through the outspokenness of one of their players.

This man sounds bitter. I wonder what will come of this now that he's making these charges against senior members of staff.

And the title of this thread isn't quaint. It's a lie and it makes the author look bad for all the evidence of that that is then posted by others in this thread so as to prove the fact.

He may just be bitter, or he could be telling the truth, who knows.

If the coach made the comment he claims during a meeting with other players, certainly the other players in the meeting could substantiate, but they may be afraid to do so even if the coach did say it.
