Wedding Icon Set

I think that sounds fine. the only thing I have heard as far as icons is to put Christ on the husband's side the bed and the Theotokos on the wife's side. that's what my wife and I are doing.

Ive been used to the parents of the couple providing them. Anyone can, though.

Ask around--Ive not heard any traditions in general regarding them, just that they are given. My grandparents have their set of icons in their dining room (no idea if this was their wedding set, though I doubt it) and my mother kept theirs on her dresser. Ours is one gigantic one (b/c my mom could only afford one, as quoted by the iconographer, and then it turned out to be MASSIVE instead of a reasonable size. She probably could have afforded 2 smaller ones), so it is in our corner, and we hope to get the same priest to make a set of small ones and donate the GIGANTIC one (of Theotokos and Christ) to a mission.

I don't think there is any tradition about who gives/commissions icons for a wedding.
