Ok, so, say a member of your immediate family committed a crime. And lets say that the victim was a member of the family. And this crime isn't a misdomeanor, but a felony.
I'm not talking murder or rape, but let's call it fraud/identity theft.
As a Christian and family member, do you forgive and forget? (as the damage done is reversible)
Or do you seek to prosecute in order to protect the loved one from any possible further harm, even though the loved one would be hurt to know their own family member did this to them.
I know Jesus taught forgiveness, but he also talked about authority.
In fact this could be seen as breaking a commandment about baring false witness and not honoring thy father and mother.
