Look up the term metaphor.

Can't defend the teadrinking savior? Post irrelevant and meaningless drivel.

:)

I know what it means, and it was not correctly used by your buddy. Nobody here wanted to hang em high - shoot, nobody here even called for him to quit the Senate!

We're just supposed to take your word for it?
LOL ... because reality has a conservative bias. ;)
I mentioned the edit history link to you before, you refused to back up your unsubstantiated claim. I have, here are the links to the edit history.

If this is truly dishonesty we are witnessing, then perhaps it will keep him in the senate and out of the executive as it did with Ted Kennedy. Then again, Kennedy murdered a girl and Paul simply read a poorly documented speech and failed to throw anyone under the bus when confronted.
Interesting where some people's priorities lie. Senator kills girl, all's forgiven. Senator quotes a movie review, hang him high
Derail attempts again.

I will point out, there is no issue with quoting, the problem was appropriating someone else's word as your own. When the plagiarism was pointed out, there was denial of wrongdoing because he lacked an understanding of what plagiarism is and said he would provide sources. The funny thing was during his denial he claimed the source were the writers of Gattaca and Stand and Deliver... they were not the source, so even if you sourced them, you are still plagiarizing. As indicative in this very thread, there were a fre defending Senator Paul saying no plagiarism occurred; they too did not understand plagiarism. When finally taught what plagiarism is, they still claimed there was no plagiarism and have resorted to ad hominem attacks and derail attempts.

Maybe Paul could just get a job as a movie reviewer :D:D:D
That would be a hard job for him considering you are required to write your own work.

Given his column being dropped from the Washington Post and several other incidents plagiarism, it is clear Senator Paul is a plagiarizer. This thread shows the zeal with which people will attempt to derail a topic for their savior.

Sure, why not? I don't mind if the politicians don't actually write their speeches, and I am sure Rand Paul tells them the content he wants to discuss. Shoot, I really have no issue with his plagiarism because it was probably his staff. My issue is Paul's idiotic way he handled this story by deflecting, denying then wanting to have a duel! He is just like Sara Palin (somebody else mentioned this?) by getting all defensive and attacking others instead of admitting mistakes and moving on. It is obvious that he has thin skin.

I could not imagine how he would handle the Presidency with such thin skin.

Funny you should analogize him to Palin. Because apparently if it gets hot in the kitchen, he'll quit.

“It’s also what people hate about politics, and it’s why, frankly, members of my family are not too interested in politics, period, or wanting me to do more of this,” he said. “To tell you the truth, people can think what they want, I can go back to being a doctor anytime, if they’re tired of me. I’ll go back to being a doctor, and I’ll be perfectly content.”

From your link:

"Paul included a link to the Heritage case study in the book’s footnotes,"

Attribution is not plagiarism

I guess you've never done an academic paper before, because the direct lifting of three pages or, as the article notes "1,318 words", is plagiarism whether it's attributed or not. In fact you quote mine the article because he cites the study as a source, but not the words themselves.

though he made no effort to indicate that not just the source, but the words themselves, had been taken from Heritage.

And one more thing that someone who has done an academic paper would know (and this includes the Buzzfeed article author) - the link for the Heritage study would have been an endnote. If for no other reason than one cannot footnote 3 whole pages of material. At least the Washington times quotes the Paul spokesman properly.

Latest Rand Paul plagiarism claim is 'witch hunt,' aide says - Washington Times
An aide with Mr. Paul’s office said the pertinent sections are clearly attributed in the endnotes and that the Kentucky senator in no way committed plagiarism.

“There were 150 endnotes and cites including the Heritage Foundation and Cato Institute, said Doug Staffond, a Paul adviser who co-wrote the book.
bold mine

I guess Doug Stafford doesn't understand what plagiarism is either.

Look up the term metaphor.

I don't need to... and it's not one.

Rand Paul on plagiarism charges: If dueling were legal in Kentucky... - POLITICO.com

“I take it as an insult, and I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting -- I have never intentionally done so and like I say, 'If dueling were legal in Kentucky, if they keep it up, you know it’d be a duel challenge,' "

He's saying if dueling were legal in Kentucky and people dare, DARE to impugn his honor, he shall have satisfaction.
