Does anybody believe this? If so, how much worse?

The scripture tells us that the world will continue to grow worse until Jesus returns. However, it also tells us that we can have Gods love, peace, joy, hope, rest and contentment right now through a relationship with Jesus Christ. If we are walking in the Spirit, we can have all of these things regardless of how bad the world gets, because God doesn't change; therefore, He is always available to help us, and we always have a reason to rejoice. It's not situational, it is simply based on a right relationship with God, founded on truth and sincere love from the heart.

But I pray and pray and do my best only to have things get worse. There is no help other than God. So what else can I do?

There is nothing else to do in that sense; this is what Peter said:

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,
John 6:69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

Yet, I think God wants you to see your situation with new eyes. You don't want to come to God in discouragement because there is nothing else you can do. You want to come to God rejoicing out of gratitude for what He did for you on the cross, what He is doing for you now, and will do for you in the future. You want to come before God with sincere love, because He is your Father and you are His child. Do you understand God as a Father or just an authority figure? You should pray to God and ask Him to reveal His Fatherly love to you. He is jealous for you and longs to be gracious to you. This doesn't mean there won't be trials. The scripture talks a lot about suffering, and it does not merely say we should try to endure it, but that we should rejoice in it:

1 Peter 1:6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

1 Peter 1:7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

This is one of the most difficult things to do, or even to understand. We cannot do it without the help of the Holy Spirit. Ask God to help you understand how you can rejoice in Him even in your suffering. Ask Him for a deeper revelation of His love in the midst of the grievous trials you are going through. This is why we can rejoice, because He is with us, and His Spirit lives in us, changing us from the inside out. We can rejoice because our names are written in the book of life.

It's not even a suggestion but a command:

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
What is your situation? Anything we can pray about?

The enemy is constantly working to steal our joy, and especially our hope. If our hope is not firmly rooted in Gods promises, we will become disappointed and depressed. Don't put your hope in anything other than Gods providence in your life, because if it can be shaken it will be shaken and you will fall.

What is your situation? Anything we can pray about?

What's going on that is so bad? I know that when things are going bad for me I always am able to find someone who has it worse like a homeless person. Maybe God is teaching you to be thankful for what you do have.

I can sympathize with you, kykako. I've suffered from Major Depressive Disorder for two and a half years and still have no end in sight. All I can do is pray, trust, and keep on going on. I wish there were more to it than that, but that's what it is like to live in a fallen world.

Things have been this way for the better part of a decade. It's almost like I pray and then the complete opposite happens.

I notice you make no reference to God and do not display a faith icon. It is surely OK but if you are not a believer, things are guaranteed to be rougher over the long haul than for a believer.

Have you read the 23rd Psalm lately?

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

When we go through these valleys and dark times of our lives God promises to be WITH us.

Elsewhere, God promises to NEVER leave us or FORSAKE us.

What you need, my friend, is faith in God. How do you get faith? Faith comes from hearing the Good News...the Bible! Are you reading your Bible regularly? That is where I believe you should start.

I do spend time in the Bible daily. I also commincate through lots of prayer and just talking to God through verbal and writing.

There is no Biblical founding to the statement. The figure of speech is based off one or more people's experience. However it does not represent an absolute by any means.

Remember not to get your wisdom from worldly wisdom; but from God.

Please note what thesunisout has shared. He made it clear that judgment is coming (and we are now seeing a little prelude of worse things to come with increasing violence, immorality, self-indulgence, permissive governments, disregard for God, etc,, even the extreme weather and climate). The Tribulation time will be all this and much worse.

Individuals have been given the Gospel message through Christ in the Holy Bible for eternal hope and blessings, so if that is not good enough for them, then God has nothing more for man but judgment. Let all real saints preach Christ to all around us!

No man is an island. Can you ask someone to pray with you- you don't have to share specifics of why?
Matthew 18:19,20 Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
