With the huge amount of audio media about today ranging from podcasts, MP3s to the humble cassette, how does all this compare with the amount of information that can be retained and faith strengthened from books.

The reason I ask is because I bought Kenneth Copeland's book, "The Blessing" and a downloadable MP3 recently. I learnt a lot from the book but I am finding the preaching going off in tangents and a lot of anecdotes that will probably become annoying if I relisten to the MP3.

I recall that most of my learning at university came from books rather than from lectures.

historically, I have bought audio material from their ease but I am wondering if I am missing out by not buying more books.

You know... As for the recent years you can find some new... Books for those who have no time to sit and to read... Audio books. So you can listen to the same text as if you were reeding... But while doing something. Guess you should try to find some. Those may look like CD or just free audio files in the net.

I ask the Lord what He wants me to do, listen to, buy, etc. I ask for the leading of the Holy Spirit. I don't think there is a right answer for this that would apply to everyone. Also there are different times in my life where one is beneficial whereas it was not so much before. Every life is different and so are our styles of learning. What produces fruit in your life? Why not go with that?
