• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have a disability called Spinal muscular atrophy, which basically means all my muscles are extremely weak. I use an electric wheelchair to get about.
I think my disability has had a bit of a knock on effect with my mental health, as I've suffered from depression for almost half my life.

I think it's great the forum has sections for disabilities!

I am currently using DragonDictate to type and it is an excellent product. It is especially useful for people with physical disabilities who don't have use of their hands. It used to take me literally minutes to write a couple of sentences and now in that same time I can write paragraphs. It is almost liberating.

Even if you do not have a physical disability you can control your computer with this product. If you have a chance you should try it out.

Thank you

James

Polio here. Effects both my legs, my left arm, and one lazy lazy eye.... can't seem to get that bad boy to see what the right eye is seeing.

I'm 41 and I gather that is rare for Polio. Caught it at 6 months old while my father was stationed in Vietnam.

U have disability benefits to help right? What med.s r helping u?? Hey btw..
Do u have feeling in ur limbs??
I two have a lazy eye..
