I did not say anything about Obama/Bush. We are discussing Paul/Christie.So being in favor of the civil rights violating policies of Bush/Obama is "reasonable" now.
Good, because you don't know what you are talking about. You should stick to the silly pictures you always post.I rest my case.
Paul/Christie got into this whole fight because Christie doesn't like Paul's civil libertarianism. Christie defended the civil rights violating activities of Bush/Obama. And he's the reasonable Republican to you.I did not say anything about Obama/Bush. We are discussing Paul/Christie.

Did you read the OP? Maybe you should.
Glad you like them. This one's for you.Good, because you don't know what you are talking about. You should stick to the silly pictures you always post.
But really, why does that matter? Would it suddenly become less insulting because the person slaps the label of "comedian" on themselves?
And it is liberals here who are defending Christie.
Now, just why would any self-respecting liberal defend Chris Christie?
Pft, since when has anyone ever cared about politicians showing any class? If it's wrong for Paul to do it (and again, I highly doubt he was making a fat joke), it's wrong for Stewart to do it, yet I don't remember people wanting him to apologize. And for the record, I don't see anything wrong with what Stewart did.The question is whether we should expect the same sort of decorum from a US Senator or a person who has a show on comedy central.

Thats neither true in practice, nor in theory.Public representatives are held to a higher standard.
No doesnt. Ive said multiple times I dont think Paul was making a fat joke. But even if he was, how is that different than you, me, or Stewart doing it? I for one dont think any of us doing it would be wrong. Jokes are jokes, no matter your profession. You can make an equivalence between a comedy news host and a senator all day if you like, it's just not reasonable, and it shows that you think what Paul did was obnoxious and base.
What did I agree with you on?So, if you already agree with me on that point what is the argument you have again?
Absolutely. I wouldnt be a good egalitarian if I didnt. And Im not talking about the phony semi-Marxian equality that politicians use just to get votes. Politicians are not angels incarnate. They have no more rights nor duties than you or I. I dont accept the idea that there are multiple standards of morality, one that allows some people to do X, but forbids X to another group. Thats the way the oppressed are kept in line. That we should treat all people in all professions with the same standards? Really?
