The scriptural indications are that it didn't "rain" as we know it.

So it didn't rain, since rain as we know it is rain. If it wasn't rain as we know it, it wasn't rain at all.

Details don't violate the rules ... decibels do.

Kind of hard to do in a written medium such as this.

When I threatened to report him for yelling, he suddenly had to move on.

Feel free to give yourself the credit for that, then.

I don't need your forgiveness.

At this point, I'm sure it's not much of a priority.

Not something to feel proud of.
Only because you guys liked him and his Sam Kinison style of screaming; not to mention his anti-KJVO stance and his constant appeals to the Greek & Hebrew language to try and undermine basic doctrine. Not to mention salting his posts with venting & ridicule.

I didn't feel proud to hold the door open for him ... I felt privileged.

Someone like that would be escorted from our church and told not to come back.

No, that is not why I criticised your statement.

These are reasons you personally developed a grudge against him, they have no bearings on my response to your comment.

I didn't feel proud to hold the door open for him ... I felt privileged.
That is the statement of a mean spirited, embittered person.

Someone like that would be escorted from our church and told not to come back
That sounds more like a Pall Mall Gentlemen's club than a church.

As you are just a small misdemeanour away from being slung out of the forum door yourself, feeling proud, no, "privileged" that you offered to hold the door for someone else is rather presumptuous, as well as showing your unpleasant side.

One thing I didn't like about his posts was the over-extended use of the CAPS KEY.

not to mention his anti-KJVO stance
I still see no basis for KJVO other than convienence. Certainly bible scholars do not follow such a restricted doctrine, and he was right to do the same.

and his constant appeals to the Greek & Hebrew language to try and undermine basic doctrine.
That's a very strange conclusion, considering basic doctrine is built on the original writings.

Not to mention salting his posts with venting & ridicule.
He could have perhaps gotten better results with a less aggressive approach.. though I recall you responding in a similar fashion to Lucaspa who was less argumentative. It's not what they post, its who they are and whether non-Christians agree with them... right?

Those who called themselves "wise."

You know -- "sapiens"?

Proverbs 3:35 said:
The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Dear Readers, the excuse above is used every time someone declares honestly that he or she no longer adheres to the Christian religion. It is also a logical fallacy known as "no true Scotsman". It is an attempt to retain their assertion that once someone knows Jesus, he/she will never look back. Instead of rejecting the universal claim that all Christians remain Christians eternally, they simply say that the people who claim to have been Christians were never Christians to begin with: they were not true Christians.

To be fair, atheists often do the same thing.

To be fair, they don't. There are all kinds of atheists, good and bad. Nobody is saying that the bad ones are not "true atheists". Nobody is saying that an atheists who converted to a religion was "never a true atheist".

So... are we still playing the "game?" I can add another ten to my list, if you like.

You are quoting something I said to Barry (whom did not respond to the question unless I missed it. I have been trying to play catch up). As far as you "list of ten", you have not proven that they are false in ANY manner whatsoever. Let's dissect your first ten before you offer up another shovel full.

Is this how the game goes? We have to "prove" everything?

Here, try this one: creationists constantly say that "humans come from chimps". According to evolution, this statement is incorrect. Humans did not come from chimps.

Some people believe Noah lived in another planet.
Some often means more then one, just what is this group of people that your referring to? Although I know a pastor that teaches all of the planets will be redeemed and restored, not just the earth.

Just do a quick search for user named Aman777. He says he brings the word of God and that many agree with him.

Don't like that? Some say that before the flood the laws of physics were different, how about this one?

Humans did not come from chimps.
Truth must be stranger then fiction. Primates are remarkably recent animals.
The species that all primates were suppose to have evolved from are a lot more funny looking then Chimps.

So what?

According to the theory, we came from something -- and that something wasn't God.

So what difference does it make if someone uses a pipe wrench or a monkey wrench to mess up the works?
