The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. You still have Christ's family, countless brothers and sisters, here on Earth as well as in Heaven. Don't let Satan rob you of that fact dear sister.
Right now I am feeling disgusted with myself. The night before last I only got 3 hours sleep (I have a 4 yr old and a 2 year old and we had a rough night).
Then LAST night I thought I was going to get maybe 6 or 7 hours sleep.
After soccer, supper, bath time, pajamas, brushing teeth the kids were asleep by about 9pm. Then my wife left to get groceries so I stayed up so I could help when she got home so I did dishes, laundry, watered the garden and flowers. By the time she got home and we were asleep it was midnight (I gotta get up at 6am).
My son kept waking up in the night coughing - and he is NOT sick - he just has a tickle in his throat. I was SO annoyed. I got him to take sips of water, to sleep differently on his pillow ... everything. Finally he starts asking to go watch TV, etc. (and not go back to sleep). I was MAD!
I got irritated and told him 'go to sleep' 'I have to work in the morning' 'stop it - stop coughing if you can'
I love my kids to death but there are some times I just feel like I am not the best parent ...

Dear brother you are a VERY strong man indeed, I honestly wish I had your strength with me I feel like a little kid when things go badly in my life I don't pray! I pray to be like you brother! ((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))
awww sweet sis that is not good, you should try to get your feelings out as holding them in the inside will only eat you up, trust me I know. Praying for you ((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))

WOW I thought I was the only one who felt this, so sad how the dumb devil is the prince of this world and like you said I am sick of seeing that all around. I am happy that I know that we all (brothers and sisters in Christ) have a forever home in Heaven one day, where there will be NO MORE suffering!!!!
It sounds to me like you're a great dad and husband. We all get tired. You're just needing some rest. Maybe he just needed a little firmness. It won't hurt him. I'll pray for you.

As soon as I see those friends say things like "my aunt" or "my uncle" or "my grandma" or "my cousin," their advice to me becomes meaningless. It's not my intent to sound harsh.

Can you try to contact your Christian family, sweetie?
We can't choose our family - none of mine are Christian, and my dad is into eastern myticism, but I have many Christian brothers and sisters who I feel far more closely related to than my blood relatives.
Praying that you can find other Christians you can fellowship with

I just got over a headache, it is a blessing because it helps you go through things that you would other wise not go through without the headache. ofc Excedrin migraine is wonderful too.

How come every time I eat a hamburger (with ketchup, mustard, and pickles as condiments) I get EXTREMELY ravenous afterward? Is there something in those condiments that induces hunger? I am feeling enraged at this.
