I followed this case pretty closely, and I'm not even sure if they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin is dead. I'm also not sure that the prosecution even proved that Zimmerman killed Martin (i.e. by evidence other than his own statements, such as a ballistic comparison of the bullets in his gun)
Basically, the prosecution would have had to show that Zimmerman had the gun in his hand at the time that he fired the shot, that he hit Martin, that his shot caused Martin's death, and that Martin actually was the person that he shot.
There's probably more, but it would be deliciously amusing if the jury returned their verdict because the prosecution didn't enter facts into evidence that proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin is dead.
That's an excellent summary.
Remember, though, the jury is only allowed to consider facts entered into evidence.
I've been saying that since the beginning, too. And I happen to agree.
For further justice, this is what needs to happen:
-The justice department to announce no grounds for civil rights charges (the FBI has already investigated and after 40 witnesses, found nothing)
-If Martin's file a wrongful death suit, a judge to grant immunity to Zimmerman
-Angela Corey and the state of Florida to be investigated for malicious prosecution
