Since we are going to live on Mars, what about the end days?

I was looking at the Mars Mission One site and learning about it when I started to wonder...If we are going to make a settlement on Mars, how does this effect people in the end of times? Jesus is coming back to Earth to save us and start his kingdom here; what about the people living on Mars?

When the man of sin or antichrist comes, how will it effect the people on Mars? I just would like some clarification on how people living on Mars would be effected. I have faith in my Lord Jesus and the Father however I am just a little confused. What do you guys think?

thers nowhere in bible prophecy where it says ppl will b living on other planets

when jesus comes back to the earth everyone will see

Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Why on earth would we settle Mars? The idea is ridiculous. Why overcome the extreme cost of getting out of the gravity well of earth only to travel long distance to trap yourself in another gravity well? If you can leave earth, any settlement should be in space itself like asteroid/moon mining to build space stations. The moons of Mars would be a far better place to build then the planet itself.

The 2nd coming of Yeshua will be long before we settle away from earth. The 'age of man' is only 6000 years then comes the millennium kingdom, the 1000 year Sabbath. We are nearly out of time.

Exactly, I don't ever recall seeing a prophecy about people living on other planets. However, we are going to send some settlements to Mars in ten years. Unless in those ten years the end of times will come. I am really, REALLY confused.

Even if people make it to Mars, the plan won't last long. Something will go awry and that'll be it.

However, what if they succeed? Does anyone have an idea on this? I am considering going to my local Pastor and asking him. There are two ways this can go; either the end of times happen BEFORE we go to Mars in ten years, or Revelations is non-canon. Maybe there is something in revelations or in the bible that I missed or over looked?

I doubt if they will actually succeed. If they do it will most likely be very temporary. Living on Mars is a logistical nightmare, I think it is more wishful thinking by some people than anything else. No water found, solar power only despite dust storms that frequently cover the entire surface and last up to a year among other problems. We can barely keep a remote controlled robot alive there much less a human being. There is no way of producing food or water there, and getting breathable air there will be difficult. It just won't happen.

Apparently they are going down near the polar region to get their water. They are going to melt the ice, where they are going to drink and bath in it. Water the plants that they have which will give oxygen and food. They are going to harvest food and eat it like normal. They will be using solar panels which only get half of the power that we get on Earth.

Not sure how desert storms work near the polar region.

The polar caps are dry ice, not water ice. The dust storms do cover the polar regions as well. Dust storm means no power, dry ice means no water. No water and no power means no living on Mars in ten years or any other time.

Wikipedia "Water On Mars" and you can see there is indeed wet ice under the surface. So they will dig it up and then use it. How do the rovers survive for so long without solar power? Maybe we will have backup power that can make it through such a storm. Then have a separate pair of solar panels that recharge the backups. Maybe there can be solar panels in different parts to supply power?

I am not a scientist, but they say they have the technology to do it. I just want to know what will happen at the end of times for the settlements of Mars. I believe they can make it work. We didn't believe we could make it to the moon at one time. We never imagined we would fly like birds in planes. Even submarines used to be science fiction like in 1000 leagues under the sea.

Wikipedia is wrong. I have read the science journal articles about water on Mars, and it is pure conjecture - wishful thinking with no scientific basis and no basis in reality. The rovers shut down until the dust storms are over, then reactivate. They do not function in them. Again, living on Mars is not possible at this time, or any time in the foreseeable future. I won't answer your other question because it is based on the false assumption that people can live on Mars.

Did you check out the Mars One site? If the time comes and they do, then what? So you are saying there is nothing in the bible that says what could happen to them?

I also read they are going down in a valley of some sort to block themselves from the storm. They assume they have enough light through the dust storms. These are people are who scientists who have already studied it and have done space programs themselves. I am sure they know what they are doing.

So God won't let us leave earth and will kill people or sabotage every effort at interstellar exploration and settlement just so everyone is present when he decides to raise and kill everyone for the last time before destroying the planet. Is that it?

If all this assumption makes God sound like a big jerk, then you're probably wrong and thinking too much. I don't think it's beyond God's power to rapture people or bring judgement on them beyond the earth.

Besides, the person who wrote it wasn't told there were other worlds beyond earth (something that would have set the bible apart from other holy books, but whatever), and christians can't even agree if Revelation is literal or figurative... though I'm leaning figurative when Rev 6 mentions removal of the sky, islands and mountains while angels "hold back the 4 winds" with people still on the planet.

We aren't going to Mars in ten years. The US economy is in the tank. The global economy is in worse shape. Today's NASA is not the NASA of The Right Stuff. Add that to the simple physics of propelling a mass that is large enough to carry even a small colony to a planet with no usable air and minimal water, and you have a practical impossibility. We can barely get an unmanned package to Mars.

This is not a government project, this a private company planing on doing this. NASA has no plans for Mars in the near future. They have people who sponsor them to do this. They said they would send four people at a time, every two years or so. Not sure what they have planned for the buildings. Unless they plan on dropping them off before hand and have the astronauts construct it.

Yeah, it's still a lot of bad science and faulty assumptions. Even if we had the money, NASA would not back this project, it's a suicide mission. Since the dust storms can cover the entire planet, and I have seen video of it, the valley will be obscured from the sun just like everything else. And these storms often last up to a year, so no waiting the storm out for solar energy. It isn't possible until we invent cold fusion or some fantasy technology like that. I know they are scientists, but they have a bias on the data - they want to believe it is possible so badly that they will risk everything to do it.

LOL, we can't get a colony on Mars in 10 years. We have to have a moon colony 1st to mine for resources and fuel to even be able to build the ship and fuel it. It isn't really feasible to send that amount of material into space from the earth. We would have to locate water on the moon to separate it into oxygen and hydrogen to fuel the thrusters.

Until we have a moon base and a large fabrication space station to use resources from the moon, don't expect any kind of colony ships. Besides that, it would be a total waste of resources. If we had that moon base and space station, we would be setting up for asteroid mining operations, not colonizing another planet.

Maybe, and I stress maybe after we have many space stations like orbiting mars with resources available to be dropped to a colony, it would be feasible to settle the surface. It would be 50-100 years minimum before that IMO.

To my knowledge we don't even have plans to put in a moon base at this time. Until you see full blown mining and manufacturing capability on the moon, forget about any nonsense idea of settling another planet. We have to settle space itself as well as low gravity environments to get the resources needed that will be easy to put into space.

Don't expect a government to do it. It will be private industry that will drive it. It has to be profitable to do so. Helium-3 mining would drive the moon based mining operations. H3 is needed for fusion reactors but it is only available in small amounts on earth but common on the moon. From the moon, electric rail guns could be used to launch materials into space towards a space station to recover and use the raw materials. The 0g would aid in making exotic alloys. We would also be building huge power collection stations and orbital solar arrays long before we worry about colony ships.

It wouldn't change anything. He will be in one place because "the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David."(Lk. 1:32). But He will certainly exercise authority over the whole human race and no one is too far away for that. He will see everyone and communicate with everyone. No distance is too great for Him. He has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand and the nations are a drop in the bucket (Isa 12). The whole universe was created by Him and for Him (Col. 1:16). He will be awesome in power.
