Feeling trapped and overwhelmed at the moment - reading the psalms - it's comforting to see how David felt so many of the same things, and yet God rescued him and used him.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

You're not insane, sweetie, or you wouldn't recognise them as paranoid thoughts!
I'm sorry you're stuggling - praying that God will fill you with his peace
Could someone force me to take my medications. Well, I can`t. I`m not taking these because I want to kill myself with meds and when I can avoid this wish to die then I think about how meds make me gain weight and how they gave me an another health problem and about all the bad side effects meds could give me.

when does the pain end?? it always hurts so much, and I don't have the strength to keep going. I'm just praying continually, day and night, for strength and hope for all of us
With a depressive illness it is not so much when will the pain end, but rather when will I be able to cope with the pain of my depression? It is good that you still pray though for hope in God will not disappoint you in the end.
I found that focusing on God's good rather than the negativity of depression is one of the best supports systems available.
Depression has life in lies, while God offers the truth.
Depression makes you feel that you are not loved and not useful, while God makes you feel loved and wanted.
Depression is darkness, while God offers Light!
Depression is dying to good life while God brings new (good) life.
Depression is the pits while God rescues us from above.
Psalm 72:12-14
For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.

I'm wrestling with the way people both in the world and in the church seem to be quick to gossip and judge while seemingly not paying attention to their own shortcomings.
29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
What does God, in His word, say of the backbiter?
(Romans 1:29-31)
No fewer than twenty-three sorts of sins and sinners are mentioned by Paul in these verses. These are things “unbecoming,” i.e., inconsistent with our duty to God and others. Of all the misdeeds herein mentioned five are sins of the tongue. Debate—strife, and the disposition to be contentious and quarrelsome. Deceit—fraud, falsehood and lying. Malignity—misinterpreting the words and actions of others, or putting the worst construction on their conduct. Whisperers—those who secretly, by hints and innuendoes, detract from others or excite suspicion of them. They secretly filet another for his faults, while pretending great innocence themselves. They talk about others as if it pains them to do so, when actually they are enjoying every second of it. Backbiters—those who speak ill of others when they are not present to speak for themselves. Backbiters never tell “secrets,” but only those things which are notoriously “true.” They never speak to the person involved, only about the person.'
Dear God give me the strength to not react to the person Denis Gulliddge describes here. They test my patience more than anything!
Amen! Lets endeavor to be salt and light not venom.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in Gods likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. James 3.
The bride of Christ is the salt of the earth not the disease.
