Will "few" or "many" be saved?

Speaking to the Jews, Jesus said:

"Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it."
(Mat 7:13-14 ASV)

Speaking of Gentiles, Jesus said:

"And when Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven: but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And the servant was healed in that hour." (Mat 8:10-13 ASV)

I'm a post-mil optimist and believe when it is all said and done, Jesus saves the most of people who ever lived. I take that by faith in the word of God, not by sight.

"Many are called but few are Chosen." Matthew 22:14

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me." John 14:6

Only those who have put their faith in Christ Jesus are saved, there is only on way to heaven, not many.

Hero, who was Jesus addressing in Mt. 22:14? The Jews, right?

Mat 22:14-15 ASV "For many are called, but few chosen. (15) Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in his talk."

I agree heartily with the other points you made.

Most of the world's population will not be saved...that most of the world will be saved is not what Jesus meant by "many." You have to look at the context...read the verse in context with the verses it is found in. Many of the Jews and their leaders were under the idea that only the Jewish people would be in the Kingdom, and that the Gentiles (the nations) would not be. Jesus said that many from those around them (east...west...other nations) would be in the Kingdom, too.
Context. Context. Context.

Revelation 7:9-14 NKJV

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Right, multitudes from all nations will be saved. A large number which cannot be numbered...the number is large but it is also unknown. The idea in the vision is a large multitude...you cannot twist that to mean most of the world's population. The Bible never reflects that the majority of the world's population will accept Christ. If that is true then Jesus' question in Luke 18:8 makes no sense, and when He said "few there be" as well as "many called...few chosen" ....He was incorrect. God forbid. 2nd Timothy also says that evil and deception will grow worse, not get less. You might also look at Rev 12:9, and 13:14.

We shouldn't worry so much about others salvation past, present, or future.. We must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. All we can do is try to show others the door, they must open it, and walk through.

Yeah...good point. Why debate about how many?
