If LT is looking on here we went to The Village Church today.

It was interesting in many ways. The preaching was fantastic as it always is online, the rest of it was not what I expected. The music and how they handled communion primarily. The experience is one that I wouldn't mind repeating to be sure that I'm not just off about it due to how different it is from my traditional upbringing.

This will be the first year that I'm not in my hometown for the 4th of July. Probably for the best, with all of the smokers downtown. And it's not like my son is old enough to like fireworks anyway. Maybe this year they would just scare him. (Fireworks aren't even an option where I currently live. This city and the one we live very near both do not put on a fireworks display.)

I am nervous about being too tired to do anything. Like, I better not go into labor today because I've been running on 3 hours of crappy sleep and have gone to work all day then spent two hours running errands. My feet are swollen, my back hurts like heck, my pelvis hurts, and I am pretty much done for the day. I can barely walk right now. I want Jacob to at least wait until I am on my vacation time and will have had more time to get things in order and rest. This is my last full week of work (actually, I will be working 6 days in a row due to a division meeting).

I've always had a major grudge against Alien 3 but after watching the Special Edition I think it's a vastly superior cut. Yes, it still makes some of the same mistakes as the theatrical version but it's much more focused and builds tension far better. Nothing will ever come close to the first two but this version at least makes the film more enjoyable and proves that David Fincher could have made a stellar film if the studio had given him more freedom. Random sci-fi rant over.

"Feminist until you get married"? Are you kidding me with this crap? How about "feminist 'til I die" instead? People and their interesting ideas of feminism. My interest in gender equality is not in conflict with my being a wife.

(I'm not posting this to debate feminism....otherwise I'd have posted it as an OP of its own thread. This is just what's on my mind and I felt like letting it out in a nice vent, and then I shall walk away from it as if I never saw the image that inspired this post.)

I do not know what my issue is with tv shows. For some reason, I must see them through til the end, if it's a series I once loved. It happened with West Wing and now Mad Men. Those two shows I stuck/stick with because they had end dates by the they went downhill. Doctor Who is borderline with me, too, though there's no end date there. It all depends on what they announce soon and how that goes.

I've decided that CF is like Mad Men for me right now. Even though there's no end date for CF. I need to learn to leave things. I need to just let go. Sure I've made some friends here, met truly wonderful people, including a man who became my husband. But this place is just no good anymore. It's a shell of what it used to be to me, and frankly, if I come to this site at all, I end up going to Singles (because if CF is like Mad Men, Singles is way-way more so) and there's so much nastiness there. Not obvious troll-nasty necessarily, but just the general attitudes of plenty of people and how they treat others.
