We have talked about going on a cruise, going to Alaska, etc. Right now, really - any vacation seems like a dream vacation because I haven't been able to travel. Simpler vacations that we will probably take include going back to the luxury cabin that we honeymooned in, going to Florida (my family lives in Orlando so it will be easy to take Jacob to Disney and other cool stuff when he gets older), camping trips in various destinations, etc.

I'm not much of a traveler, but if we were to go anywhere, we'd love an Alaskan cruise, take a coach inland, then flying home after touring around. It's the vacation we agree on. If I were ever to go overseas, I would go to England and Sweden to research my heritage.

I kinda prefer weekend getaways, though. This area is so rich with travel destinations, there is no real need to go too far.

So, where are some dream vacations you and your spouse have talked about taking? We have a really long list.

I think ours is tied between Japan, Ireland, or Israel.

Feel free to daydream in the thread and share pictures, etc... :)

Hokkaido would be our choice, we spent our honeymoon there, we always wish we would go back there again, but never get around to it...

I'd love to go back to Europe and I know hubby would too.

We both really want to go to Nicaragua next march to help some missions friends of ours there.

But mostly we like taking the back seats out of the van, lying a mattress back there and going to "unplanned" roadtrips, where we pick a direction and drive, not knowing where we'll end up. :)

Peace,

Vacations LOL.

What I need is a weekend off where I don't go anywhere or take a vacation. And I'm taking one of those weekends this weekend (including the ever-infamous Monday!) as a matter of fact.

I HAVE NOTHING PLANNED AND IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME!
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

(I've been working weekends for four years now, so this is a big thing for me)

I do want to take a cruise one day. Maybe Caribbean or Hawaii. I do love boats and the open water.

We just booked our first vacation together!
(Not counting the honeymoon and Thanksgiving with his family)

Yep, hubby is taking me to my home state for the 4th of July week!

My friend is in TN right now and she and her SO look like they are having such a blast. They got a luxury cabin and have gone hiking, "zorg"-ing, gone to the TN aquarium, etc. We have been to some things in TN, but I definitely want to go back and explore more.

I'd love to thru hike the Appalachian, Continental Divide, Pacific Crest and American Discovery trails. I'm not sure if this is something my husband is as into though. We used to talk about it; not so much anymore.

Ireland. Definitely Ireland.

Our last vacation was a cruise to Mexico... we had a blast and definitely want to go back sometime. :D

Also on the list are England and Scotland. We've both been to England on school trips, I've also been to Scotland (same school trip) and soooo want to go back

We have never done a cruise, and not really wanted to because it feels like they would be a bit confining and structured - however - both of us agree that an Alaska cruise with a balcony room is something we'd like to give a shot. Perhaps we'll learn cruising isn't bad!

Europe would be fun to visit together. Great Britian, Paris, Rome.

We both have a desire to visit Israel and cross the border to see the pyramids and Sphinx.

Among dream vacations we have experienced. We have done Hawaii three times (Love Kona on the Big Island). Been to US Virgin Islands on our honeymoon. San Francisco, Denver were both really fun as well.
