I received news on Monday that three of my son's ventricles in his brain are enlarged and swollen. He had a short MRI done that day and the neurosurgeons want to do a complete MRI in about 2 months and my baby will have to be sedated. It will then determined if he'll need surgery. My oldest son, who is now 10, had the same thing when he was a baby. Please pray for the situation. Also, I wrote more details here:

Praise You in This Storm: Part Two | Journey of Cross and Quill

Thank you so much for your prayers. My son has good days and bad days--with bad days being that he will scream for long periods of time, sleep a lot, and just in general not feeling very well.

How I feel for you :(
My son (32) was a 12 week preemie, and suffered from hydrocephalus after a major bleed when he was 2 days old.
He was managed with meds for 4 months and then had to have a VP Shunt.
Praise God....he has had no malfunctions, infections or seizures (he does have cerebral palsy affecting just his legs), and had just two shunt revisions at 18 months and 12 years.
You will have a special place in my prayers ~ praying for strength, hope, comfort, healing and blessing on you and your boys.
May God bless you in His Merciful Love :crossrc:

Thank you. My oldest didn't have to have a shunt as he was a perfect candidate for a different procedure. He still has to have a yearly visit with his neurosurgeon but he has done well. He's had other problem, namely delayed a little bit in his development, but he is catching up quickly. I pray that whatever this is will not affect my baby develpmentally. I also have another son that was diagnosed as failure to thrive as a baby and just last year as having an intellectual disability (2 to 3 year level--he's 9) and so it's been a long road. But God is good! All things work together for the good of those who love Him.

My gosh...you have had quite a spell of it
Praise God for the graces you have received; the boys are blessed in having you as their mom

May I ask what the 'different procedure' was?
I am just curious as a retired nurse and mom of a hydro baby ...so much has changed in 32 years!

It was called an endoscopic third ventriculostomy. They used something similar to a balloon to make the hole for drainage. He's also had to have reconstructive ear surgery twice in the last year and a half. I don't know if the damage was a result of the hydrocephalus. God has protected our family mightly. I am blessed to have such beautiful children.

Wow, that is amazing ~ praise God
Yes, God does give you the grace and blessing... my son had many medical issues over the years (still does).
He is our miracle baby....was essentially dead on the respirator after bleeding for 12 hours (head to toe)
and came back to life after being prayed over.
They said he would be a vegetable IF he survived; the Lord had other plans ;)
Praying for abundant blessings on your family  :crossrc:

Or God is a God of miracles. And even when things don't go according to my plans, I have learned to say Amen.
To be able to do that is the greatest blessing; He works all for our good and always gives sufficient graces for the need at hand
