The new Lexus

A well-known member of Congress parked his brand new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he was getting out, a truck came along too closely and completely tore off the driver's-side door.

Fortunately, a Capitol cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus with his lights flashing.

Before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the congressman started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just purchased the day before, was completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how any car body shop tried to make it new again.

After he finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you politicians are," he said. "You are so focused on money and material possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."

"Important things like what?" demanded the congressman.

The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing? It was severed when the truck hit you!"

"OH, MY GOD!!!" screamed the congressman. "MY ROLEX!!!"

This isn't even funny.

Every congressman knows that he could just get a lobbyist to give him a new rolex.

Plus, I don't think that Lexus vehicles are all that cool anyway lol.

The LFA is pretty cool, but for something like 1/5 the price, you can get a GTR that's faster.

Yeah, Lexus has the same syndrome that Lincoln has...they essentially make the same car as their cheaper counterpart (Toyota & Ford), swap out the logo, and jack the price up $15,000.

Quite true. The new ES350 is essentially a glorified Avalon. Same platform and engine. My wife has a 2008 Avalon, which she loves. Very comfortable, fine performance, and all the luxury anyone would need for a much better price.

BTW, Toyota will begin making the Lexus in Georgetown, KY. Which is where our Avalon was made. Hmmm....

Yep, and there's another Lexus (forget which model) that is identical to the Camry.

If one buys a high end car, you'd think they'd want high end features that go with it...apparently, Toyota is banking on a bunch of people who don't know much about cars, but want a fancy logo ^_^
