Kievan Synodal chant

Can anyone tell me about this? I'm in a conducting class and am conducting a marching band arrangement of Tschesnokoff's "Salvation is Created" (it's a really really horrible rendition, but I love the hymn). I did some research on it and discovered it was a Kievan Synodal chant, but I'm not sure which one, and is it related to Znannemy chant in any way?

Thank you so much. I found out this particular hymn is the anthem for the Russian Church. It's so beautiful and I can't get it out of my head,I just don't like it transcribed for marching band!
