I know this might be weird question, but I'm really trying to have strong faith, but I'm struggling with one thing in my mind, I can't visualize God creating things...I mean when I look around it's pretty obvious He did create all things, but when it comes to going back into the very beginning my mind is having a really hard time grasping and visualizing it and it bothers me...Is this weird? or do others have the same problem?

No, for I cannot compare the Creator-God to puny man. We are finite ---with a beginning and ending, like all things in this world and life. God always was! He is eternal, and that is beyond our reasoning, for we can only know that which begins and ends. We need to not challenge God, but bow to His pre-eminence. When the true "born again" believer leaves this world and goes to God we will understand "eternity"

This is the reason you cannot visualize it:

Isaiah 55:9

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The ways of the infinite God cannot fit inside our finite minds. This is why Gods word says we need to surrender our understanding to Him:

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.

I do not try to imagine how God created the Universe from eternity, because I have no reference point. I have a beginning but God has no beginning. We have a drive to try to figure everything out, but God has many mysteries that we cannot figure out. It says this in the word:

1 Corinthians 2:9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"—

The wonderful plan that He has for us we have caught only glimpses of; we cannot understand the fullness of it through our own reasoning process. It must be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit:

1 Corinthians 2:10

these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Even then, the scripture says that we are seeing only a poor reflection of the true reality:

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

One day we will see God face to face and we shall know Him as fully as He knows us now. That day has not yet come, but if are curious about something, ask God about it. He has bid us to ask Him to reveal His mysteries:

Jeremiah 33:2-3

"Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name,

'Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know'

Good question I think actually.

Here’s something cool Jen. We can measure electromagnetic vibrations coming from space and interpret them as sound. Check it out for a minute or two

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKbuGQtnnDA

Weird or what? ;)

I recommend checking out Dr. Huge Ross from “Reasons To Believe.” I think he may have some interesting things for you to discover.

As for myself, I suppose I image a God driven kind of big bang. When God said let there be light I imagine it wasn't something like a 40 watt light bulb; if you catch my meaning. I imagine the transferred energy from that light, in sound energy, made a sound that could loosely be described a bang. Though this would serve to seriously underestimate the bang itself.

I imagine some type of inflationary model, best described to date by Dr. Russell Humphreys. This could account for the time dilation between star distance and events from creation described in the bible. If you prefer the Young Earth model. ( No wars please I won't be joining the discussion ).

There's certain parameters(rules) that need to exist, gravitation, nuclear forces, etc; cosmological constants, that are very delicately set, and I mean very delicately set, a cosmological razors edge - To allow this universe to exist.

And to allow life to exist... Whao! It would be like throwing a dart across the distance of known space, some 20 billion light years and trying to hit a 1 inch target. And that's how finely tuned these initial conditions need to be.

I'm sure the whole event was quite the scene to watch. Hey I'm just thinking; there's no linear time in heaven... necessarily. I wonder if that means we could get to watch events from the past like the fall, the creation etc.
Imagine that for a cinema experience, all on HD. ;)

Thank You Asiyreh. I have been feeling really down because of this topic on my mind, but I'm really glad I asked now. But what I really came to grips with this week is that we can't comprehend it, no matter how hard I try and then I left myself feel so down when I realize I can't comprehend it, even though we are not suppose to. I think sometimes I'm too hard on myself, but then I have always been a perfectionist, so I'm always trying to solve things to have the answer.

No problems Jen. As another of my favorite creationist lectures online says. God gave you an intelligently designed brain so you can use it.

That Ian juby btw. Very funny guy. Does some great stuff on biology, anthropology. A young earther though extremely well informed and capable.

Complete Creation, Alternavideo Productions & Genesis Week - YouTube

Don't forget to check out the guys at:-

Reasons To Believe : Where Modern Science & Faith Converge

You'll get a range of opinion there - from young to old earth to theistic evolution, but hey nobody's perfect hehe. I'm joking... check them out the guys are great there.

Good luck missus, keep the faith. And don't beat yourself up so much. I'm not a Christian because it's all a matter of faith. On examination of the evidence I find the God revealed in the bible proven right over and over again.

Creation event outside of space and time.
Cosmological expansion of the universe
2nd law of thermodynamics
etc etc

The bible the only one that ever gets them all right all the time.

Come let us reason together says the Lord, not leave your brain at the church door.
Lol

Good luck and God bless Jen.

:) oh no. not at all. in fact many times in Scripture the psalmists write of His glorious creation and how can we know it?

I deeply encourage you, to turn that sense of struggle, frustration loneliness etc. and realize that if you DID grasp how He did everything from the get go, then you wouldn't need to rely on His Sovereignty. But because of that very struggle you have, you can take it to Him in all of His eternal Sovereign Goodness.

Now, are there specifics you are struggling with? Or just that general frustration you described above?

Hello ChristianLife08,
Thank you for your response. I think that is my biggest struggle right now. I can see with my eyes how animals are so different, especially like the giraffe and the ostrich and see there must be a creator, but in my mind right now, it's hard for me to understand like How did He make them, if that makes sense, my mind is always looking toward science when I don't want to and it's hard for my mind to understand that a living being created animals and human beings and the earth...it's ridiculous for me to really think about it, because there is no way we came in here by random chance, that seems ridiculous and by looking around us, it should be really easy for me to see that a creator created everything, but then on the other hand, it's hard for me to understand that God created everything...like for example it's easy for me to relate to a giraffe created a giraffe, because that is what we see with our own eye, but to imagine God creating a giraffe is really difficult for me, if that makes sense.

I also get mental pictures of things I think about -- even pain. It is also difficult for me to get a mental picture of this and many things I read in the Bible. I think that may be why it is hard for me to understand. I am a visual person; more like a spreadsheets and flow charts person. Maybe I should try to graph it out. lol
There must be some way to help understand this better. I am glad I am not alone!

:) your struggle makes complete sense. I wish to answer first with a simple and direct answer and then, Lord willing, go into specifics of your reply.

God created everything by the simple utterance of His word. He spoke and it came to be. Now, we can grasp this and understand it. But to the eternal degree, we will never comprehend the massiveness of this Glorious Sovereignty that our Creator has. Nor should we. why? again i go back, because if we did, then being humans we would become proud and fall. Deceiving ourselves that we would not need God. Similar to satan's temptation in the Garden, "...For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” In our nature as being in HIS image, but not Him, satan can appeal to our desire to being AS God. Not saying this is your circumstance, but simply wish to give caution. If this is a temptation then I greatly encourage you to pray to the Father and seek His face.

Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with studying science. Many fore fathers to science practiced it BECAUSE of their faith and desiring to understand Gods creation. However, in today's contemporary field of science i caution you greatly to discern many things in science. Especially when it comes to the order and creation of this world and universe. For many "facts" are misleading truths that have ignored true data. Anyways, look into science if you wish, perhaps through it, God may help you to see His glorious creation. But always keep one truth in mind, though a difficult truth, because we are finite and He is infinite. Because we are so weak in need of a Savior, He is our Rock for all eternity. Because of these things, we are made to worship Him and to be in communion with Him THROUGH the Son, our Savior. Our faith is called a walk sometimes for a reason. Our faith grows each day we seek our Father. It's always maturing and by His grace the more founded in Him we become the more He reveals to us. Please, be patient, seek Him and pray always. (Philipp. 4)

I'm sure this hasn't fully satisfied your doubts. But, Lord willing it will give you food for thought. And we can continue discussing if you wish to iron out some things. :)

Faithfully,
ChristianLife08

There is no need to struggle with God and science, they are not incompatible. God created by the process of evolution :)

Please, when stating that though be very discerning what you are implying. Because not all evolution is true.
