Say Hi, Gracie (Newbies say hello thread)

Greetings everyone - This group looks interesting! I hope to have some vibrant and challenging discussions here. I am quite new to the CF thing and am enjoying reading what others think and feel in relation to their faith and general life stuff. Thanks to all for letting me share my love of God with you and vice versa.

Hello there. I happen to be new as well and felt it would be prudent to post here first to identify my presence, as directed by the title thread.

I just wanted to introduce myself here before I post a question. I came back to Christianity about a month ago and I went straight to Eastern Orthodox where my ancestors came from. But I found it was super strict and taught some things that were troublesome to me. Rather than abandon the whole thing altogether, I decided to start where I was, and that was a sort of Post Evangelical, Emergence kind of thing. So I came here!

I've practiced and studied many religions just to learn about faith. Just recently I have been researching Islam because I keep hearing how ignorant the west is about the religion (turns out we aren't all that off the mark). Through studying, I have practiced a few of these faiths as well, such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Paganism. Through all this exposure and my extremely to a fault open mind, I've been distressed over which one was right. As God sometimes does, He gave me an unmistakable sign where He wanted me to be. So...

I live in Mpls, I'm a 42 year old mom, very spiritual, totally not religious at all. I have 2 Pekingese. I love Hello Kitty stuff and watch Young & the Restless religiously ( so I guess I am religious that way). My favorite writer is Brian Mclaren.

And that's me. I'm happy to get to know this group.

Well technically i am one of the more "ancient oldies hahah as i joined CF almost 10 yrs ago...took a looong break, so kinda feel like a newbie a lot of old friends dont use this site anymore. Glad to see we are still reaching the world and walls on this site are falling down...at least the little time ive spent so far..always room for improvement

I love it!!! The Episcopal Church is fantastic, isn't it? I'm going between an Episcopal Church and an Eastern Orthodox one, figuring out which I like better.

Hello! I found this forum the other day and thought it might be right for me. I'm a gay Christian, raised Catholic but currently splitting my energy between Catholicism and a non-denominational church. I am not now, nor have I ever been a fundamentalist, which has made me unpopular in Catholic forums as well as some other Christian circles. Hoping to find some like minded folks here to discuss life!

This is my Hello post. I am not sure if I belong in this forum or not but I don't know where else I belong, either. I'm more of a confused born again Christian saved by grace through faith. However, I'm also of a different mind sometimes on certain issues than my conservative church, so I don't know what I am or where I belong. And I like your attitued of Who so ever will, may come.

Hello! I am a Gay Christian, recently come back to christs loving embrace. I am currently in the process of joining the Episcopal Church. I am a bit of an anomaly. The best way to describe my views.....would be a liberal republican. Socially, I am pretty liberal. Just fiscally conservative. I love all people and hope that this group will be a good one for me If you would like to know a bit more about how I came back to god my intro in the anglican forum is titled "A Sincere Believers Introduction", that way I dont have to repost such a long post xD

Have just posted a thread and then I noticed this thread, so thought I would greet everyone here as instructed to do.

I have never called myself a liberal but I do have some 'liberal leanings', I used to consider myself conservative and couldn't gel all my ideas together about christianity, so started looking deeper into things, I still don't consider myself liberal but am very interested in learning some more about some of the things which most christians condemn, I would like to make up my own mind based on the bible [which I suppose goes without saying] and the dicussions I hear.

who knows I may become a liberal yet!

Am looking forward to exploring more.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a couple of months but have decided to join! I consider myself a non-denominational liberal Christian. When I found this side of the forums, I was very happy as I feel safe here. I do wish that there was a bit more activity but hopefully that will increase in the future. It's nice to see other liberal christians here to share our thoughts and feelings.

I never really thought of an official internet name for this site so I guess I'm alright with just being called "justhere1" or "j.h." lol. I originally joined CF so I could send a message to someone in another thread but as I started to look at the liberal forum where I felt the safest, I wanted to engage with other like-minded liberal Christians and not be judged or condemned.

oh, okay. Hi J.H! I joined because I feel very lost and confused about coming back to faith and was looking for support. Someone referred me here and I hope that this is a safe place for people like myself. I really dislike how people judge others on the internet, it bothers me. I believe the only judge is God.

This is a great place for support, Leanna! I'm fairly new myself too and also in the LBGT group. I know the feeling of being judged and it really isn't fun. There are a few from the other side of the forums who like to come in and make us feel bad but don't let them get to you. I also noticed that some people here will fight on our behalf so it can be a safe place so I respect them

I feel just the same way too! Once I get enough posts, I'd really love to PM you so we could talk more. It woulds like we may be good supports for one another.
