Okay look,

I am new, but I have NEVER seen so much combativeness and hatred on a forum than I have on THIS one. Whether you are Pre-Trib, Post-Trib, or what have you.. Can't we all just agree that Christ is our Savior, and that regardless of our opinions of one another, we respect each other and love one another like Jesus himself told us to do?? I have seen people been called "losers" and ridiculed for believing what they believe, and it makes me so sad to see that... Especially on a Christian forum.

We all have our own opinions, and sometimes we don't believe or accept another Christian brother or sisters' heart felt belief.. And that's okay! Sometimes we just don't understand one another. And that's okay! That doesn't mean we should mock them, or make fun of them.

I understand today is March 22nd, and yeah, nothing has happened. So what. Does it make you a better person for pointing that out? No. Jesus would have wanted us to love and support one another regardless of the outcome of the "prophesy". Have you thought for one minute that maybe, just maybe... Someone who believed that they were to be raptured TODAY were completely heartbroken at the fact that they got it wrong? Should you rejoice in the fact that they were wrong? Or laugh at them? No.

I just don't understand the animosity between people that are the brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus.

If anyone could explain to me the reason why eschatology and end times studies has everyone's "panties in a wad" please do so. Regardless of our opinions, we are all going to the same place...

I am fascinated with eschatology and love to read all of your wise words. I have never seen so much KNOWLEDGE of scripture!!! Some of you are so very blessed with wisdom and I can only hope and pray to one day be as knowledgeable as you are.

I just wanted to give my perspective on things, because I have been praying about this... and I'm not going to lie... This forum has made me kind of sad to be quite honest.

God bless you all,

Joy

I didn't grow up in religious circles, so this has always mystified me as well.

I understand to a large degree why people treat each other like garbage, in the various ways they manage to do so .... humans are selfish, don't respect life, manipulative, etc. I get it. But when they do it with God as their justification or their leverage .... in the name of God, THAT is the thing that mystifies me about believers, especially if they can't prove their own side anyway.

I had the exact same thoughts and feelings as you are having right now when I first joined...actually...I was shocked by how some would respond and I just stayed away for quite awhile. Eventually I came back, but reframed from commenting...just read stuff...it took awhile for me to test the waters again, so to speak.

That's why I pray before I come on here. All I can say is to choose your words wisely. Even then, there is no garauntee someone out there isn't going to pounce on you like a rabid dog...at least in this forum. Just be prepared for that.

And there are a lot of forums here that are much less controversial to explore. Some are really fun and interesting.

God Bless you as well :)

The problem is that some people have built their entire understanding of the Bible on a system of doctrine that they have chosen to believe.

If anyone challenges their system of doctrine, they feel personally threatened. For if their system of doctrine is wrong, then their entire understanding of the scriptures is wrong, and instead of being able teachers of the scriptures, they would only be babes. So they respond in the flesh, instead of in the spirit.

When someone is wholly committed to such an erroneous system of doctrine, he or she cannot be reached. All we can do is pray for them. But we can expose the errors in their doctrine to prevent others from being lead astray.

In the olden days they used to burn them didn't they. Some still hold them aloof. Them?

There are flaws in forums for one.

Facial expressions cannot be seen.
Tone is difficult to detect in posts.
These flaws are usualy misconstrued.

I dont mind the discussions. I still love the worst civil christians. Remember trials lead to perseverence and that to character. We need a fight now and then.

Peace.

If anyone could explain to me the reason why eschatology and end times studies has everyone's "panties in a wad" please do so.

Be glad to. There are a couple posters on this board who feel led very strongly to set dates when they think something prophetic is about to take place. However, these same posters have been habitually wrong in their previous attempts at date setting, so many of us will not take their new dates seriously until they get something right for a change. When we verbalize our disagreement, the date setters call us “scoffers”, “mockers”, “blind”, and “asleep”, while they are the ones who are awake and attentive to the signs of the times.

So we all wait to see what happens…and when the event or sign does not take place, the date setters shrug off the mistake, ignore their poor discernment, and then reappear months later to begin the cycle of setting dates, accusations of “blindness”, and claims of understanding the signs of the times once again.

I can’t speak for everyone, but my panties get all wadded up because the posters making the predictions never seem to reevaluate their methods of discernment. Even if they admit they got it wrong, they don’t seem to ever correct how they got it wrong in the first place - they just reappear a short time later to hawk the same wares they tried selling before. That’s what gets frustrating for me, anyway.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Agreed. :)

You would be doing a service to these forums if you report such incidents of abuse.

Wow! Thanks to all for all the kind replies. I am SO glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Oh no, I don't mind discussions either! I don't even mind heated arguments as long as respect for one another is still maintained. Regardless of facial expression, being called a "loser" or "troll" has the same effect and I've seen people been called both.

Actually, that does help. I understand the whole being frustrated at the date setters... I really do. It frustrates me as well at times. Why not just ignore them? My Granny (God rest her soul) always taught me: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Jesus taught us the same! I'm pretty sure the skunk on Bambi taught the same concept as well. lol.

I have seen, in my short time here, people being called losers for believing in the rapture of the church. They aren't the one's setting dates, but they still get laughed at and are being called names. What's up with that?!

Jesus didn't pull any punches in Matthew 23. :) They deserved it though...

Even so, I take your point.

Thy call us that because they are so certain they have correctly interpreted the scriptures that they cannot even conceive of a possibility that they are mistaken.

The timing of the rapture is indeed a suitable topic for discussion, even for debate. But the fact of the rapture is not. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

I have a question that I've asked before: What happens to the people who repeatedly take these false prophets (date setters) for their word, and then when their lies (prophecy) become obvious those people loose faith... turn their back on Christ, because of those false prophets whom they believed? What happens to them and to those false prophets who keep doing it over and over and over again?

I have seen people been called "losers"

LOL this might be a reference to me.

The post in question was:

Amen!

The Rapture will not be secret.

As you showed, Revelation 6:15-17 clearly foretells that everybody on earth will see Jesus appear in the sky when He comes for His Church.

And that the non-believers will run and hide in fear of Him.

They know that judgment is coming shortly thereafter.

This is why they turn to Anti-Christ when he returns, out of desperation, thinking he's their one and only chance of thwarting Lord Jesus' Eternal Kingdom on Earth.

Sorry, losers... ain't happening.

The losers part wasn't referring to anyone on here, rather the people who willingly ally themselves with Anti-Christ, in outright insurrection against God during Tribulation.

Loser is an apt description for them and even the Anti-Christ they will pledge allegiance to.

At a quick glance though, it does kinda look like I'm tossing out insults towards folks but that wasn't my intention.

Sorry if that upset you.

The same thing that happens to anyone that " turn their back on Christ" for any other reason. The teachers that lead them astray will be held accountable and will be judged first.

Mat 7:1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beamisin thine own eye?
Mat 7:5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Mat 7:6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Mat 7:7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Mat 7:12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Mat 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wideisthe gate, and broadisthe way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14Because straitisthe gate, and narrowisthe way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Mat 7:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neithercana corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Mat 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
