I still see nothing where it says he randomly picked names out of a gum ball machine to be elect. It gives no reason as to why he picked who. I'm not saying I believe 100% he did not choose his elect, but there is a reason he picked who he picked and at this moment I see the word "foreknown" as being that he knew who would truly love him. I don't know for sure, don't know if I ever will know until I meet him in heaven... but I do not believe there was no reason based on his love and infinite wisdom.

Really it does not even say he chose his elect without giving everyone a chance to love him, unless I am missing something.

That's all nice. But who is called in that passage? It's pretty clear. I'm not sure why you are avoiding what it says.

John 6:43-51

43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. 47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

John 6:61-65

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

Does that not say those who do not believe, and it has always been known who would not believe? And therefore they will not be drawn to come to Jesus?I'm not trying to twist scripture, I see it as saying God knew who would not believe so he did not draw them to Jesus

It says no one comes to the Father unless drawn, and those drawn will be raised up on the last day.

Brother, let me give you a small lesson on both English and Greek grammer.

In both languages, the rules are almost identical.

At the beginning of Romans 8:29, there is a word that is used as a conjuction. A conjunction serves to link two or more ideas, things, words, phrases, etc., together.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." -Rom. 8:28-29 (KJV)

Why did God "know", have intimate knowledge of, be acqainted with, the "elect"?

"For" (which serves to link verse 28 with 29) they were "called according to his purpose", and his purpose was:

"that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." -Eph. 1:4-6 (KJV)

That is why.

God Bless

Till all are one.

Well brother, I thank you for simply posting an answer rather than pushing an argument. I do know what a conjunction is, studying this for less than 4 hours on and off while I also study for a trade license I am going for tomorrow is throwing me off a bit. But the entire point of all this is not why God called us, but who God called and why he called them in particular as a person. For example, just for fun lets say God called you, you became born again, your elect, but God did not call me so I can not know what it feels like to love him, it is impossible for me to want to know him or even care that I will never know him. What I am trying to understand is why did God choose you but not me? If infact that is how it works.

:wave::wave::wave: Hey guys!!!:wave::wave::wave:

Lets help someone!

Its all good Whisper. The Holy Spirit already convicted me for getting angry with someone over scripture. I'm done debating and simply seeking an answer... although I have to start concentrating more on my exam for tomorrow and leave this be for a bit. :)

BeeWrangler, have you noticed how tired you can get by really working on a post or reply? I mean when we take it very seriously and wish to dig and present truth or find truth as best we can ascertain it. Of course that means trying to catch our typos, poor grammar, etc. That is hard work and I find it makes me quite tired. Some of my posts may seem to be provocative to some, but they come out of things I've learned in the past and it only helps if we are jarred into thinking or being challenged. I find I study the hardest when I have been challenged and am having a problem defending my view. Over the years I've had to change views. I hope I am at a point where I have no 'major' changes, mainly refinements. ;)

Yes, that is what John 6:44 says. What about John 6:64-65? Sounds to me as a reason for John 6:44?

I'm not seeing that as a reason. He pointed out that they didn't believe. That was their natural state. That's why Jesus aid what He said.

I would tell my kids to hug and make up at a time like this. Both of you are Christian men.

We aren't kids. So this is pretty insulting.
