Ah does that mean we've missed/are about to miss your own birthday?

The big 44 on Mon. 11th.

I stayed home, watched TV and chatted with people on the Intenet. I'm such a party monster!

Having see the number of candles mounting recently myself, it got me wondering, at what stage do the candle flames combine and form a firestorm?

I remember when your age icon was near what mine is today.

And I hope TheFijian will get a kick out of a thought I had earlier tonight - as long as we're noting the passage of time, he should start recording it not in months or years since TF2.0 was born, but in how many consol socks have come and gone.

On a less light note, after about 17 1/2 years, at the age of about 18 1/2, I had to put Scarlett, the cat I have in my arms in my avatar down almost two months ago. We'd delt with renal failure for two years, but otherwise after a long and healthy life I came home one morning to find her paralyzed from the "waist" down. She declined quickly over the weekend and I took her for her "last visit to the vet" on Tuesday.

I haven't broken down in tears, but for the past two months I've been depressed and missing a lot of the routines I'd had for so long like having her greet me at the door when I came home from work, doing our water routine in the bathroom sink, feeding her snacks or having her lap condensation off by beer cans in the living room, having her come and rest her head on my foot so I could scratch her while on the commode and having her jump up on my bed and snuggle in the crook of my left arm when I went to bed.

Best. Cat. Ever!

You remember my age icon from eight years ago..? That's umm creepy :D
Unless you looked at it and thought to yourself, Gosh that's old!

Sorry to hear about your cat. She wasn't 'just a cat', or even the best cat ever. She was family.

*hug*

Thanks and yeah, I saw this cool avatar of Ashurbanipal and thought, man that dude from Ireland who is pretending to be a 3,500 year old Assyrian king is cool what with me being a history major and an appreciator of Assyria and having used his name as passwords in the past. Shame he's ~45 when I'm ~33. We probably don't have anything in common.

After having read a few more posts, I'd like to say "Hi" to Assyrian, too!

Also, I am so sorry for your loss, US. My fiance's cat of 10 years died in his sleep on our bed a few months ago right after my fiance, Tom, lost his dad. I understand and you'll be in my thoughts.

We have rescued a new cat now, on a happier note, and she is a little doll. Idk how anyone could've not wanted her.

I have often wondered what kind of a conversation I could have with Charles Darwin if it were possible to discuss origins with him over tea. I'm certain he would be polite company and imagine he would be quite disturbed to learn how quickly I think evolution can and did happen in natural history. Would he laugh, cry or just make an excuse for cutting the discussion short due to some urgent business he must see to immediately.
