We should always be giving Glory to Gods Name.

Psalms 115:1
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

By giving God all the Glory we can magnify and exalt His name.

Psalms 34:3
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Let's give some Glory to God by sharing some scripture together about giving him the Glory, or even by sharing ways He has blessed us, and giving Him the Glory for those blessings we have received.

Gods grace is a blessing given to us all!
May we always remember to give Him the glory for this, by thanking and praising him for the grace he has bestowed upon us.

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

In my studies tonight, I was reminded of this post. What an awesome verse this is. To think we are Justified by faith and that is how we have peace with God through Jesus Christ.

Justification does not mean we are acquited or pardoned or paroled but it is a legal act whereby our status is changed for good.

So justification does not mean we are acquited as though we successfully defended ourselves in court; it does not mean we were found guilty and then pardoned; and it does not mean we are paroled as one who is guilty and have been given freedom on certain conditions with some restrictions on that liberty. It simply means our status has been changed from out of favor with God to in God's favor.

In this verse we are saved by faith for our good, but Romans 4:16 goe further and says it is by faith that it might be by Grace because in this way God is Glorified.

There is so much to write on Justification I would have to put it in several long posts. So I will resist. But once I wrote on the Theology of Adoption, and explained how God handled Adoption vs the way man handles Adoption. I am reminded because of the way God views justification vs the way man views it.

Man justifies the innocent - God justifies the guilty.
Man's justification is on self merit - God's is on Jesus' merit.

What a God and what a Saviour!

Hey where to you all live! I love to sing praises to God with you all (i know I will one day! :p)

To Gerry, you always inspire me to open my Bible, thank you for that! :p

Regarding Justification: You said "So justification does not mean we are acquited as though we successfully defended ourselves in court; it does not mean we were found guilty and then pardoned;"

Being in the legal business, I understand the workings of law (remember, I'm the one that has to watch out for being Pharisee-like). Justification means that we have be tried, found guilty and sentenced to death. There is no pardon here. The price of the charge must be paid. The thing is, I am a dead man (ok woman), except for the fact that Jesus stepped in before my sentencing was executed and said "I AM, therefore I will pay the sentence". I like to remind people too, your weren't really pardoned, your debt was just paid. WAGES of sin is death, its something we earned. But Jesus gives a GIFT (free of charge, nothing we earned). Justification: the freedom from the penalty of sin.

Gerry Said:
"But once I wrote on the Theology of Adoption, and explained how God handled Adoption vs the way man handles Adoption"

I would love to see this. The first Bible study i was in talked about who were were before God. I really hung onto the fact that I was "adopted" by God. (I used to pretend I was adopted as a little girl) The new creation and being adopted into the Family of God really helped me a long time ago.

I love the Glory songs. Holy Is He is my favorite

Sorry Reeann, but you have missed the point of my post and you are incorrect from a theological viewpoint. There is a HUGE difference in Justification, Sanctification, and Glorification.

Nevertheless I did not intend with my post to inspire a debate, which is why I posted it as a reply rather than as a seperate study in a seperate thread.

I think there is a great need for an understanding of the "shun" words of the Bible.

My point was that man justifies the innocent by various legal means. Rather God justifies the GUILTY NOT by means of pardon or aquital, or parole, but by CHANGING our status.

Since you are of a legal mind and familiar with latin terms, there are three latin theological terms, you may be familiar with.

Non posse non pecare - not able not to sin This obviously refers to our status before salvation.

Posse non pecare - able not to sin This refers to our status after salvation, because through Jesus we have the power to live a life of victory.

Non posse pecare - Not able to sin This clearly refers to our status after the rapture.

James wrote that man is justified before men through works , whereas Paul wrote that it is through faith that we are justified before God: faith being the root of justification. James then wrote that works is the fruit of justification.

To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Refrain

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

I love that Hymn
