The last day is not prior to wrath. The last day is the final day when Jesus returns, raises the dead, and judges the nations. There is no "wrath" after the last day.

The Day of Wrath is not one 24 hour time period. The day of His coming on the clouds to destroy is. The day of wrath/time of wrath is at least 3 1/2 years long and includes the entire 7th seal (trumpets, beasts, bowls).

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Daniel 11:36 “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place.

Isaiah 26: 19 But your dead will live;
their bodies will rise.
You who dwell in the dust,
wake up and shout for joy.
Your dew is like the dew of the morning;
the earth will give birth to her dead. 20 Go, my people, enter your rooms
and shut the doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while
until his wrath has passed by.
21 See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling
to punish the people of the earth for their sins.
The earth will disclose the blood shed upon her;
she will conceal her slain no longer.

Let's stick to what the word actually says.

I did.

Look at scripture.

White robes are given to the Bride at the moment of her wedding:

Rev 19:6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
8Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear.”
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

When are the white robes given?

Rev 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

Where are the white-robed people standing after being given white robes?

Rev 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”

Who are the white-robed people?

Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from
14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Who are the people who have washed in the blood of the Lamb? How long have people been able to do that?

1 Joihn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Learn the parable of the fig tree..................
The problem with that is NOTHING in that parable calls Israel the fig tree! You do that!

Jesus gave that parable to demonstrate to the disciples that just as they could tell that summer is near by the fig tree putting forth it's leaves, by the signs He had given for Jerusalem's destruction, they could know it was near.

It's clear as day:
Matthew 24:32-34:
32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
33so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

There you have it! Jesus said "recognize He (Jesus), is near"...it's has nothing to do with Israel, but with Jesus.

Also notice Jesus said THIS GENERATION! That means the generation of that day NOT some future generation.

Jesus had already told of other people times that would come to pass, as be ye not troubled. This is why Jesus later went into referring to this generation, because he was not referring anymore to the one/s that would live during the wars and rumours of wars time. Jesus had listed those things as they had to come to pass, but ye not troubled. So none of that part so far Jesus had been telling the disciples was for the sees the signs and be ye troubled -beginnings of sorrows generation.
Really?

Let's test that by each occurence where Jesus says "this generation" using Matthew's gospel:
Matthew 11:16-19:
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children,
17and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

Matthew 12:38-42
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;
40 for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
42 The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

Mathhew 12:43-45
43 “Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.
44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order.
45 Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation

Matthew 23:34-36
34 “Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,
35 so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
36Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

Matthew 24:32-35
32“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
33so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

In every instance the context is the generation Jesus is speaking too...:thumbsup:

The resurrection is on the last day. Jesus Christ said this many times in the book of John. The last day is the final day of this age. There is no "wrath" after that. After the resurrection on the last day all that remains is eternity with him.

Well to be honest I don't really see a "day of wrath" discussed in scripture. It may be mentioned once but that's really it. I think you are building a false doctrine on a foundation of sand.

ob 21:30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
Pro 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Zep 1:15 That day [is] a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Job 20:28 The increase of his house shall depart, [and his goods] shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

So the "day of wrath" is mentioned 2 whole times in the New Testament.

Hardly seems like something to build this huge doctrine upon.

The "day of wrath" is simply another way to describe the Great Tribulation.

No reason to complicate it.

Nope. Jesus said tribulation ends before wrath begins.

Jesus said - Jesus said - Jesus said - Jesus said - Jesus said - Jesus said:

Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

See you're confused.

Jesus never said that the tribulation ends.

All Jesus is saying is that "Immediately after the tribulation of those days then the tribulation becomes greater."

He is not saying the tribulation ends and wrath begins. He never makes that statement.

Jesus never said that the tribulation ends.

All Jesus is saying is that Immediately after the tribulation of those days then the tribulation becomes greater.

He is not saying the tribulation ends and wrath begins. He never makes that statement.

No, that is incorrect. Jesus said that the tribulation is cut short for the sake of the elect.

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

He tells us what happens immediately after it.

Do you believe Jesus or not? Jesus is the one who is always right.
