Why did you pick your username?

Because my name is Grace. It happened 9 years ago, when I created my yahoo mail account. The name grace is taken so yahoo gave a few suggestions and I chose gracegreciagracet.

When I first joined the forum I was at the beginning stages of researching and writing my thesis. My research is heavily ethnographic and based on an ecocultural development of teachers.

So I wanted to put Ethno as a user name but I thought people would think I am sound "ethnocentric" so I left the g, for my name.

Now people just think its eggnog.

I figured as much. I studied a little Ethnography in school. Not enough to actually know what I'm talking about, though.

I joined CF as Psm116:7 but everyone ended up calling me "Psm" which I didn't like so I changed it after a year to Amber.ly, which is a play on Amber Lee.

I was Jesslovespugs on here for 7 years I wanted something different one of my friends told me my name in Russian and I really liked it still do and Bam there you have it!

I came up with it myself but I love this scripture that encompasses my name

Ephesians 1:7 "

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Mine is connected to my dad. It's sort of a personal story I rarely share.

I'm not creative enough to pick a decent handle, so it's my name.

Because my name is Casey, so to be original I use QueSi

I wanted a username that I liked and meant something but also a name that could not be linked to my life outside of a forum.

Pomegranate seemed a good fit .

Originally I was LunchBox401, which was a combo of a once given nickname (inspired by a friends mutual love of Kevin Smith flicks) and a Canadian highway.

Guy Incognito? I was trying to come up with a new name, and I happened to be watching a Simpson's ep where there was a character named Guy Incognito. So...yep.

My name is a combination of an Ambrose Bierce Devil's Dictionary reference to the definition of a cynic as "a blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are and not as they aught to be", or something similar, and the "_" from my callsign in an online game in the 90's which was "<real_name>_". The "_" just was something I used in place of the random numbers or birthyears people commonly attach to their names to distinquish them from all the other people with the same name.

My friends say I'm like a soldier and I've always been a fighter in everything in life... so soldier heart.

I figured my sock account should reek of awesomeness!

Completely corny reasons.

One is because I like to think of myself as special to God, like His little star who shines brightly for Him and makes Him pleased. The other is because I secretly know there's a major celebrity hiding somewhere in me just waiting to burst forth and WOW the whole world

Jazz, the measure of distance, and it's similar to Giles. I also kind of like the fact that it's a real name, even if it isn't my own.
