How many faith based initiatives are there currently?

Well they started in a limited fashion under Bill Clinton as I recall. George W Bush expanded the program and Barack Obama has continued the program. I'm not sure how many are currently active. Regardless, we shouldn't be spending money we don't have on something that could easily be funded by private donation.

It would be interesting to find out just how much money is directed to faith based initiatives

Dropping the A 501(c) exemptions.

John Boehner could also drop the defense of the "Defense of Marriage Act". That would save a few million right away! Wouldn't even have to go through Congress. Course it won't get back what he's already wasted BUT there ya go.

Million? A few Million? What is your idea to save $1T? That should be the goal, and do it with no additional taxes.

I wonder which gun Obama would chose if he had no Secret Service protection.

Government is like overhead, and weighs down an economy that runs on capitalism, at least in the long run.

I do you one better, NEGATIVE taxes! And cut all government services 110% to pay for it!

Well, at least you are heading in the right direction!

Cumulative

3. of or pertaining to interest or dividends that, if not paid when due, become a prior claim for payment in the future: cumulative preferred stocks.

Considering he's had his life threatened more than any other President? Probably wouldn't have time to pick one out.

plu·toc·ra·cy

[ploo-tok-ruh-see]

2. a government or state in which the wealthy class rules.

3. a class or group ruling, or exercising power or influence, by virtue of its wealth.

I'd be happy to teach you how. It is not as difficult as it looks.

Oh, to think you would actually respond with an idea on deficit reduction.

I'm still waiting....

or, does it not matter that we are stealing from future generations to "live for today, for tomorrow we die"

Carpe diem, right?

Well if we just wait around till next month the deficit will be automatically reduced. Granted it will be done rather indelicately and will have devastating consequences on the economy. But there you go.

I'm talking really reduced - not the 2% cut of sequestration.

You guys must really love the veterans, the disabled, and the elderly. Maybe some of that money should go towards buying new hearts

What does this snarky comment have to do with the sequestration discussion?

I'm still have not a clue as to what democrats propose that we do as an alternative to sequestration. All I have heard is that the Republicans better do what the President wants or they are to blame if the sequestration goes through!
